OASIS Faq
MELODY MAKER

- tabloid tales
- Noel Gallagher was one of the few celebs not at the [Party In The Park in Hyde Park, Lonedon], but he has been out shopping again! This time in "the tiny Guitar Village music shop" in Farnham, Surrey, according to The Star. He supposedly spent £2,000 on a vintage guitar and paid with his "ultra-exclusive Black Centurion American Express card". The paper went on to claim that while Noel was there, he drank tea, "stunned customers and staff by giving them a sneak preview of the eagerly awaited new Oasis record", and before he left, signed a guitar. The band's record company confirmed that Noel had made a purchase and offered his autograph, but they seemed doubtful that he'd aired new material to complete strangers.
- Meanwhile, brother Liam was spotted by The Mirror buying a car of his own, even though he can't drive. Mind you, that didn't stop Noel spending £110,000 on a hand-crafted, convertible Jaguar recently. Apparently, Liam wasn't nearly so extravagant and has picked a £12,000 Volkswagen Polo. An "insider" said: "Liam wanted a little car to nip around town in. He's not a big car enthusiast like Noel, so he didn't see the point in spending a fortune."
