Liam Gallagher's drinking habits, or lack of them, were splashed all over the front page of the Daily Star. The headline blared: "Liam's Off The Blaze". Apparently, following a "string of riotous nights out", the singer was given an ultimatum by big nbrother Noel and was told to go on the wagon before venturing to France to record the next Oasis album. Noel allegedly said at a recent awards ceremony: "My little brother has given up drink for three months now and he had to because the band would not have been going any longer...And I tell you what, everybody in the band is shocked it had to come to that. He's a better person for it, but he's a bit more boring."
Liam has since been snapped by The Sun on his best behaviour at the Cannes Film Festival, with a slightly larger-looking Patsy Kensit.
Meanwhile, Noel, after leaving the awards bash, was spotted kissing a copper! Yes, a copper - apparently 25-year old WPC Maria Lovegrove. The Mirror claimed that Noel was chuffed when the police officer asked him for an autograph. But before Maria could hand back the star's vodka and orange, he apparently "moved in for the kill". An "onlooker" said: "I don't think the officer could quite believe what was happening."
