- tabloid tales
- There have been all sorts of rumours flying around Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit in the tabloids.
- The Mirror was the first to announce the news of Patsy's reported pregnancy. Then they mocked up a picture of a baby holding a can of lager and a cigarette and giving that famous two-fingered salute.
- Friends apparently told the paper that the couple are "delighted" with the news. A so-called "close pal" said: "The baby was planned and both parents are over the moon...Despite his bad boy image, Liam is actually great with kids. He is a natural...Patsy is in no doubt that having a baby will have even more of a calming influence on her husband."
- Oasis' record company, Creation, told The Maker: "Liam and Patsy have both said this story is not true." But despite this denial, both The Sun and The Mirror refused to take any notice the next day.
- The Sun claimed that their baby is due on October 10 and was conceived days after the actress had moved back into the couple's north London home in mid-January after she walked out months before.
- They also claimed that Liam told one of his pals: "I'm really chuffed. I love kids and this is really special." Another "friend" supposedly spilled the beans: "They are dnying the news publicly because it's early days. So far, they have only told a close circle of friends."
- Meanwhile, The Mirror's headline insisted the story was true. They apparently went to the couple's £1 million home and Liam apparently told them through the intercom: "It's absolute nonsense, mate. I don't know where it's come from."
