OASIS Faq
MELODY MAKER
8th August 1998
- tabloid appearances
- Noel Gallagher was pictured by The Star in a cutesy pose with wife Meg, under the headline "Noel's Oa-kiss". The couple were noticed dining at the trendy Momo's restaurant in London'd West End.
- Meanwhile, The Mirror snapped the millionaire musician making a withdrawal from his local cash machine. He gave them a rare grin to the camera as he stuffed his wad into his pocket.
- The real shock revelation came in the Sun, however, with the headline "Noel gives drugs the Big E", and a story claiming that Noel thinks he's getting too old for narcotics and is worried about his health - although, as the inevitable quote from "a pal" put it: "Noel has decided to knock drugs on the head. Obviously, he's not going to turn into a saint overnight. I don't think the day will come when he gives up booze and fags."
- However, the day will soon come when Noel and Liam lookalikes play Tweedledum and Tweedledee in a TV adaptation of Lewis Carroll's "Alice Through The Looking Glass", to be screend at Christmas, according to all of the tabloids. Mad Hatter for it, you might say.
- Also, at The Camden Falcon, for the Smaller gig, was Liam Gallagher looking tanned and clean-shaven hanging out with Cerys Matthews of Catatonia - now she's more man than he'll ever be.
