- "Oasis Prevent Wombles Album Title"
- Oasis have prevented The Wombles from releasing an album called "What's The Story (Tobermory)?"
- Wombles creator Mike Batt said: "Noel said he thought The Wombles were cool but he didn't want anyone nicking his title."
- Two years ago, Oasis vetoed The Smurfs from covering any of their songs.
- And Oasis' spekesman told NME: "I'm not surprised that Noel said this, even though The Wombles are cooler than The Smurfs."
- Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher is currently working on several new Oasis tracks in a studio in a secret location.

- Elsewhere, The Verve, Noel Gallagher, Graham Coxon, The Chemical Brothers, Super Furry Animals, Shane McGowan, Faithless, The Warm Jets, Mike Scott and Campag Velocet all crushed into the country dancing themed aftershow for The Beta Band's Electric Ballroom gig and waited over an hour for the bar to open...
- ...and Liam Gallagher was spotted storming out of the first night of Steve Coogan's London run after the comedian discovered Liam was in the crowd and taunted him with cruel jibes about his laughable chin and talentless wife. "Fookin' coont," Liam muttered at reportes. Ah, turn the other cheek quoth the Lord.
