- "A Throng In Wardour Street
- Alongside a picture of Noel, Pete Townshend and Steve Cradock playing guitars
- Noel Gallagher, Ocean Coliur Scene, Pete Townshend and The Boo Radleys helped raise £25,000 for the Liverpool dockers on Friday, October 16 at new London Wardour Street venue Sound Republic.
- They all played acoustic greatest hits sets during the evening, in front of a specially invited audience of people from the music industry as well as dockers. It culminated with Noel and Ocean Colour Scene's Steve Cradock joining Townshend onstage to jam on a version of The Who's "Magic Bus".
- Earlier, Gallagher played a solo set comprising "Stand By Me", "Wonderwall", "Talk Tonight", "Live Forever" and The Beatles' "Help".
- When asked to play some new material, Noel teased: "You f*****g do not have a hope in hell! I'll play the first chord from the next single, alright?"
- After he'd played the one chord, he laughed: "How big's that gonna be?" to which someone in the crowd shouted, "Number 25!" and got called a "cheeky bastard" in return.
- "Young Person's Guide To Becoming A Rock Star"
- Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher is to make a cameo appearance as himself in "The Young Person's Guide To Becoming A Rock Star", a spoof docu-drama which is currently being filmed in the UK. It's due to be broadcast on Channel 4 this December.
- "UNKLE remix"
- He's also taking time off writing for the next Oasis album to remix "The Drums Of Death", the Mike D tracks from UNKLE's "Psyence Fiction" album. The track should be released before the end of the year, though it's not been decided whether it will be a main track or a B-side.
- public nme
- Just across the square, a brand new club was holding its opening might with a Rock The Dock gig featuring Pete Townshend and Noel Gallagher and watched by Liam, Meg, Kate Moss, Anna Friel and others.
