- "Champagne Super Notebook!"
- Alongside pictures of the lyrics to "Rock'nRoll Star" and an unissued song called "Love"; and of the cover to the lyric notebook
- A notebook belonging to Noel Gallagher, dating from around 1993 is to go under the hammer at Christie's auctionners this month and is expected to raise £4,000-£6,000.
- The notebook has been described as "Noel's masterplan for Oasis" by his record company Creation and is being sold by a mystery female vendor. Christie's sold two sets of Noel's lyrics for £1,000 in April this year.
- The spiral-bound student notebook is lot number 184 in the auction at Christie's in South Kensington, on December 10 and contains track listings and suggested concepts for albums and singles.
- The catalogue entry states: "This notebook gives a fascinating insight into Oasis' repertoire and Noel's detailed plans for the band's future at around the time that they signed to Creation Records [sic] in 1993. Several of the potential track listings are almost identical to the band's first full-length demo tape, recorded in Spring 1993 - it was this eight-track demo which is said to have finally clinched the band a deal."
- The book reveals Noel suggested the title "Datura Dream Rebound" for Oasis' first album, "Definitely Maybe", and planned to include their first Christmas single, "Whatever" as the final track. "Whatever" never made it on to an Oasis album. He also planned to release "Bring It On Down" as their debut single. They eventually released "Supersonic" as their debut single.
- One set of lyrics for an unreleased song, "Is That A Fact?", is a look into the relationship of the Gallagher brothers.
- The song begins: "Alright I'm going home/Don't want to hear your voice no more... What's that you say?/You never liked me anyway!?/Is that a fact??Well I don't care/What you needd is a real good hiding/'Coz with you I've been siding all my life/I know you're my brother/But only because you came from my mother/Time and time again/I've seen what you're really like".
- Other unreleased lyrics include "Tracksuit Bottoms": "I've been watching you/You over there in your tracksuit bottoms/What's your problem with the world?" and "I Am Always Right": "Cos I'm the man who's done and seen all that there has ever been/And I'm always right!!".
- Lyrics to a song called "Chill" hint at the time when Noel joined Liam's old band Rain to form Oasis back in 1992.
- It goes: "The rain's long gone/It's time to make it mine/When it all comes down you'll be asking me for spare change/But a dollar won't save you from the chill".
- Also in the notebook is a set of lyrics in Noel's hand for David Bowie's "Heroes", covered on the B-side of their 1997 single "D'You Know What I Mean?"
- The lyrics to "Love" are:
- "[chorus] There's no need for you to say you're sorry
- Goodbye I'm going home
- I don't care no more so don't you worry
- Goodbye I'm going home
- [verse 1] I hate the way that even though you know you're wrong
- You say you're right
- I hate the books you read and all your friends
- And your music's shite it keeps me up all night
- [repeat chorus]
- [verse 2]I hate the way that you're so sarcastic
- And you're not very bright
- You think that everything you've done's fantastic
- And your music's shite it keeps me up all night
- [repeat chorus no song!]
- And it will be nice to be alone for a day or two
- But I know then I will be right back here with you
- [repeat chorus]"
- [At an educated guess I would say the "mystery female vendor" is Louise Jones who was Noel's girlfriend and with whom he lived up to around the time the band signed to Sony/Creation - Andrew]
- songs in the key of life - Lars Ulrich of Metallica
- Song you fell in love to: Don't Look Back In Anger
- "The first time? Hang on, I'm going through my relationships here. I'd probably say that when I fell in love with my wife - and I sincerely think that this will be the last time I fall in love with somebody - we were listening all the time to, um, [sings] "so Sally can wait", what's that called? 'Don't Look Back In Anger', thank you. Yeah, that one. We were listening to that all the time, it was out top song. We'd shag a lot to that record. And that lyric, "Please don't put your hands in the life of a rock'n'roll band", to me, in terms of identifying with a single lyric, I think that it's a little to close to home. Heh heh."

- The nights draw in...the signs suggest that the season of goodwill is approaching, a time when our usually evil, self-serving pop star scum mates stop thrashing vagrants with carpet-beaters for kicks and show their caring and (non-fiscally) sharing sides.
- Take Noel Gallagher, for instance,. Most days our Noel would have you handcuffed to the back of a Land Rover and driven at high speeds through a razor factory for even daring to whisper the word "autograph" within three miles of his mighty ear lobes. But a whiff of Chrimbo in the air and he's sending gold discs of "Be Here Now" to a talented pianist in Northern Ireland called [***** *********] who was tragically blinded by the Omagh bomb. Ahh, and there we were thinking Noel had donated his heart to the Paul Weller Old Folks Benevolent Fund years ago!
