The piratical Gallaghers, aware that they could raid the treasure trove of rock'n'roll past one more time or it would be 40 lashes for both of them, slung the lot into Be Here Now. It's a sound so massive it could have come from Led Zeppelin as produced by Phil Spector. While Noel filled 30 tracks with mosaics of ear-splittingly loud guitar, Liam's personable bellow slammed through it all and the rhythm three delivered their holding message like iron. And added to all that, avid students of the Oasis sensitivity count were pleased to note, in The Girl With Dirty Shirt and Don't Go Away, Noel's new, lyrical admission of intimate experience and feelings.
