- "Yeah" - the Meg Mathews column"
- Noel was busy working in the studio all last week, so I took the opportunity to see a real girlie film - Shakespeare in Love, which was fantastic - and to be more domestic than usual. I had a meeting at Supernova Heights with Darren Gayer, who designed the interior. It's looking a little worn after a year of partying and football supporters tramping through, so all the paint needs retouching and the floors rewaxing.
- Me and Fran did the guest list for the opening night of Irvine Welsh's new play, You'll Have Had Your Hole: there was Mel Blatt, Nat and Nikki from All Saints, and Harry Enfield. I liked the play but I was rather shocked - being about bottoms, it's not exactly something I would take my Mum to. Everyone came back afterwards to Supernova Heights for a few drinks, except for Mel, who had to get home to her new baby. I just can't believe how much energy she's got - much more than me.
- I've been chatting on the phone to Anna Friel, who has finished filming in Los Angeles and has now moved to New York, where she is about to embark on a new project. I also found time for a spot of shopping. I had a meeting with the Tommy Hilfiger people about the designer's new store, and as their office is next to Voyage on Fulham Road, I couldn't resist popping in for a wicked little pair of pompom slippers. I met up later with Piers Adam from the K-Bar, as I'm doing the guest list for Cabaret, the new club he's opening in a couple of weeks (despite the pink shirt you were wearing, Piers, I don't really think you're too much of a hooray).
- I spent the weekend in the country on my own, watching videos and spending time with all the animals - dear old Charlie the mongrel is still recovering from his op, but he should be home in a couple of days. Noel popped home from the studio at about one in the morning, but he couldn't wait to get back to the boys.
- I spent Sunday night with Mel B and her husband, Jimmy. She treated a group of 10 friends to Cirque du Soleil at the Albert Hall - amazing acrobatics, gymnastics and bungee jumping (I've been overding the Pilates ever since), but absolutely no performing animals, thank goodness. We then trooped along to 190 Queen's Gate for a few glasses of wine.
- This will be my last column for a while. It's hard to find the right note for saying goodbye to all of you who have shared a little slice of my life each Sunday. I have to say a special thanks to the people who have let me drop their names over the past three months - now they can go back to being themselves when I'm lurking nearby with my camera. Mad for it!
