Hi, thank you for taking time to see our web page. We are Food Not Bombs Simi Valley Chapter. For those of you who do not know FNB is one of the fastest growing grassroots political groups in North AmeriKKKa. There are over 70 autonomous chapters protesting militarism and poverty by serving free vegan meals to people in need and support of on going political organizing efforts. We believe that society and government should value human life over material wealth. By giving away free food to people in need in public spaces we directly dramatize the level of hunger in this country and the surplus of food being wasted.

WHAT ARE THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF FOOD NOT BOMBS?

Food Recycling

Enough food is wasted each day to feed everyone who is hungry. FNB recovers healthy nutritious vegan food that would have been discarded and we prepare it to be served to the people. We collect food from warehouses and grocery stores that might be unuseable because it no longer has the necessary shelf and we will use it the same day.

Non-Violence

Our Society is dominated by violence. Our daily lives are effected by the constant threat of crime, police abuse, and the ongoing possibility of nuclear war. the authority and power of our government is based on the threat and use of violence at home and abroad. FNB is commited to a vision of society that is motivated by love and sharing not violence and greed.

Consensus Decision Making

Rather than relying on a system of winner take all, FNB promotes a process where every member of the group has full opportunity to participate in shaping the groups decisions. The consensus process creates an environment where all pionts of view are heard and conflict becomes an opportunity for creative solutions and increased cooperation.

FOOD NOT BOMBS Simi is setting up two tables full of informatoin on all types of topics involving social change and animal rights. This will happen at the Bullocks shoew in Downtown LA on February 7th at 8:00 PM to 12:00AM We will serve vegan meals too. There will be videos on Vivisection and other political actions.
