"Uh, yeah, that’s me" Taylor said, giving me a weird look. I leaned away, feeling incredibly stupid. ‘You meet Taylor Hanson, in person, and all you can say is "you’re Taylor Hanson, aren’t you?"’ I thought, inwardly kicking my self. Stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid! I couldn’t believe I had actually said that! I glanced at him again. He was looking at me, with a confused look on his face, one eyebrow raised. I quickly glanced away, thinking madly what to say next. I leaned over again.

Taylor Hanson took a closer look at the girl standing in front of him. She had deep brown eyes and layered shoulder length red-brown hair. She was quite pretty, if a little ordinary looking. She seemed to be having trouble finding the right things to say, he noticed with slight amusement. But she was very sweet, and asked him an interesting question. She’d just finished wishing him good luck for his "future albums and stuff" when he noticed Isaac making hand gestures from the tables behind her. He thanked her, and said bye. She sort of nodded, and said something about talking to fans. He smiled, said bye again, and headed, a little reluctantly, for Ike. When he reached him, he asked what was up.

I held his eye for about five seconds before looking away. He was standing next to Ike, and sort of talking to him at the same time. I looked at my burger for a few seconds, and then glanced up again. He had sat down with his back to me, and was talking happily to Ike and Zac. I sighed, and looked back at my untouched burger. Just another day in the life of Rhian Campbell.
"Umm, I just wanted to say that I really like you and your brothers music, it’s, umm, it’s great to have a band who, really believes in what they’re doing" He smiled.
"Thanks". I turned back to the cashier as she handed me my order. Taylor got his at the same time. As he turned away, I blurted out, "Can I ask you a question?" He looked back at me, and said,
"Sure, what is it?" he gestured for me to leave the line and walk with him. I followed him out of the Burger King, and into the main area of the mall again.
I scanned my mind for a decent question to ask him. "What’s your favourite song from ‘Middle Of Nowhere’?" Oh, God. I did it again. Stupid! Stupid, stup-
"Madeline, probably". I stared at him.
"Really? I love that song! It’s the greatest!"
Taylor grinned. "Well, either Madeline or Weird, anyway". I grinned back. Ten seconds later, I realised I was still grinning at him like a Cheshire Cat. "Oh, well thanks. For talking to me, I mean. It’s great to see you guys doing so well. So, good luck for all your future albums and stuff, then."
Taylor smiled again. "Thanks. Well, I better go." My heart sank. Idiot! I told myself. You just made a total fool of yourself in front of one of the hottest guys you’ll ever meet. I smiled weakly. "Yeah, bye. Thanks again for talking. I know you guys must get sick of it."
He flashed that killer smile again. "That’s cool. See ya" He started walking towards a gathering of tables and chairs in the middle of the mall. I turned around to watch him go. As he neared them, I noticed Zac and Isaac Hanson sitting with two adults - I guessed their parents, and three more kids. "Bye" I said quietly. I turned back around and headed for a table by a large fountain.
"Mom’s leaving, and wants to know if you’re gonna go with her, or stay, and come later with me and Zac."
"I’ll stay"
"okay" Ike turned around to tell their Mom, and Taylor looked over his shoulder, back to where he’d left the girl. She was walking towards the fountain in the centre of the mall, and looked ready to sit down. Ike turned back to him. "So who was that girl anyway? Somebody I know?"
"What? Oh, um, a fan, I think."
"Cool. Was she nice?"
"Yeah" Tay mumbled as he stared after her. She had sat down and looked up just as he glanced over. He caught her eye, and held it for a few seconds. "Yeah" he repeated, "Yeah, she was nice."
