» CHAPTER FOUR «

Later, it near the very end of the concert with, "Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)". It was an awesome song. AJ had been flaunting his obvious sexuality all night. Not for the teenyboppers, but for Jessica Tucker. And she couldn’t get enough.

"I have GOT to talk to her, some way, somehow," AJ thought. The guys took their bows and ran backstage, still hearing the screaming. After the BSB had prepped somewhat, the few people who had backstage passes were allowed back there. AJ knew there would be the usual people who always got passes, and the radio station winners, but who was coming soon he was never expecting.

AJ wiped off his face with a towel, and flung it on a prop. Eyes still closed, he heard a voice as sweet as candy say, "Hey baby." His eyes opened wide when he saw he was face-to-face with Jessica, the girl he had been trying to get with all day long.

Instinct got the most of AJ, and he grabbed her for the most passionate kiss he could muster.

Meanwhile, Lauren was looking for her best friend, unaware of the heat that Jessica was experiencing, and ran smack into Nick. "Oh, Nick, hi!" she said in a sweet voice. "I seem to have a habit of running into Backstreet Boys, don’t I? I’m sorry." Lauren stared into the deep blue pools that were Nick’s eyes, thinking that she really wasn’t sorry at all.

"It’s all right-It was my pleasure...I mean fault. I should’ve been looking where I was going." Nick showed off his adorable crooked grin. Lauren felt her knees going weak, but managed to smile back.

"So....today at the mall...you didn’t mention you were going to be here tonight." Nick raised his eyebrows at her teasingly.

"Surprise?" she laughed. Nick felt like melting into the ground when he heard her laugh. It sounded like chimes...

"Well, you weren’t kidding when you said you had to shop for something special. You look......really nice," Nick complimented. He had resisted to say, that she looked gorgeous, beautiful, like an angel from heaven.

Lauren was turning red from blushing. "Thanks. You don’t look so bad yourself. By the way, I wanted to tell you, you did a really great job tonight. I was very impressed."

"Thanks, and thanks. What can I say? I love what I do. It’s a lot of hard work for someone as young as me but, I grew up in it. Now I couldn’t do anything else," Nick said.

"Yeah. I could tell you really got into it. Like your solo song...who’s that lucky gal who you need tonight?" Lauren winked.

Nick looked down at his feet, then up at her. "Um...nobody. Idunhaveagirlfriendanymore." Nick mumbled in almost one word.

"Oh-" was all Lauren could get out before Nick interrupted saying, "Well Lauren, I better be going. It was nice talking to you. I’m glad you enjoyed the show, thanks for coming. Have fun." He turned and walked away.

"Bye." Lauren shouted. "I don’t guess I should’ve said anything about his private life. Oh well. At least I had a good time. Now where did Jess go?"

Nick walked quickly down the corridor, to find his band mates. He felt bad about abandoning Lauren like that. He just couldn’t deal with the girlfriend talk. He missed Mandy more and more.

"Maybe I should go back and apologize. She was just being nice and making conversation," he whispered to himself. "Nah Nick, don’t worry yourself with it. She’ll understand." he immediately thought. "Now...where are the guys?"

Jessica was startled by AJ’s fast move, but went with it anyway because that’s what she had wanted all night long. "His kisses are so passionate," she thought. "He’s a HECK of a frencher!"

She wrapped her arms around AJ’s shoulders as he wrapped his around her waist. Jessica felt so right in AJ’s strong arms. "This is the life," she thought.

AJ wrapped his arms around Jessica’s slender waist. He felt so right holding her in his arms. He was also so happy that she liked him too. He continued to kiss her with everything he had until they both finally had to come up for air.

"Jessica......" he whispered her name while letting his hands run down her curvy thighs.

"AJ...I want you so bad right now babe." She looked into AJ’s dark eyes.

"I want you too. I know we haven’t known each other for more than a day, but I feel an instant connection with you...like it was meant to be right from the very start," AJ murmured in her ear.

"Exactly. So how can we be alone together? Do you have to leave tonight?" she asked.

"Nope. That’s our good fortune. This is the last show of the tour. We’ll be here for a good while," AJ remembered his luck.

"Great! Now...where were we?" Jessica grinned.

"Right here baby." AJ lowered his head to kiss her again.

Lauren was just about to give up on finding Jessica, who’d she’d been searching for, for 10 minutes, when suddenly she stopped and her eyes grew wide.

There was Jessica.....in AJ’s tight embrace! She couldn’t believe it. They were making out very passionately, not caring that there could be anyone around. "You go Jessica," she thought. She secretly wished that that was her and Nick making out madly. Lauren hated to interrupt them, but how else was she going to pry her away?

"Hmm-Hmmm," she cleared her throat. AJ and Jessica quickly broke away, smiling.

"Oh hi Lauren. How long were you standing there?" Jessica asked sweetly.

"Long enough," she thought, but said, "Oh, I just needed to tell you that we should be going," Lauren replied.

Jessica pouted, for a minute, until AJ whispered something in her ear. "See you tomorrow Lauren, I’ll call you!" Jessica smiled.

"Yeah, see ya!" AJ shouted, then they started running down the hall holding hands.

"Well isn’t that great. Now I gotta go home by myself." Lauren turned to walk away, and was suddenly face-to-face with Nick again.

"No you don’t," he smiled, looking down at her.

Lauren went weak in the knees. "H-How long were you standing there Nick?" she trembled.

"Long enough," he whispered, taking Lauren into his arms and kissing her.

Jessica and AJ stopped running and started kissing again. They reached the bus. "I have to ride to the hotel in this thing," AJ said, "So do you wanna go swimming with us? We always rent the hotel pool for a very late swim. Don’t worry about a swimsuit or how to get home. I’ll take care of everything."

Jessica nodded. "I’d go anywhere with you AJ....and I can’t wait," she said softly.

"Me neither babe. Hey, I’m the first guy here....so let’s make the most of it," he murmured pulling her close to him again. Jessica completely melted in his arms.
