» CHAPTER EIGHT: CONFUSED «

AJ stood outside of the bedroom. What had I said to make Valerie so quiet? Maybe I was moving too fast or maybe she has a boyfriend. “What am I going to do?” AJ thought outloud, as he walked downstairs.

“Do about what?” asked Nick, eating the pizza that the delivery man dropped off while AJ was upstairs.

“About nothing,” said AJ, stuffing a piece of pepperoni pizza in his mouth.

“Come on man! What’s going on with ya?!” asked Nick, accidentally spilling some pizza on the counter. “Crap!” Nick stood up and cleaned up his mess.

“Well…..” said AJ, thoughtfully.

“Well, spit it out!” yelled Nick.

“What? My pizza?”

“No, dumbass; you know what I mean!”

“Just, nevermind!” said AJ, staring at his pizza.

“You know what…. I think that it’s about Valerie” replied Nick, taking another piece of pizza. Nick looked at AJ and could’ve sworn that he was blushing; which he never did.

“Maybe” said  AJ, flatly.

“Man, come on! You can trust me! What’s up?”

AJ explained what had happened upstairs a few minutes ago. When he was done he just sat there petting his dog; Panda. “I really want to get to know her, but I don’t know what I did wrong up there.”

"AJ, I don’t think that you did anything wrong…. I think that Valerie might be kinda scared.”

AJ replied, "Scared… of me?”

“No retard! Just tell her what’s on your mind. Like I should do with Allison….” Nick stopped and blushed slightly.

“Oh, I see what this is REALLY about.”

“Well, I think that I like Allison….. a lot.”

“I guess that they’re are kinda like our little angels; you know.”

“Yeah, that’s a weird way to put it, but yeah! It’s true” said Nick.

“Well, this was a nice little chat, but we still don’t know what we're gonna do about the girls!” AJ said, frustrated.

“Hey, calm down man! Why don’t we just wait to see what how the girls feel about us” said Nick.

Valerie and Allison were looking at the swimsuits. “Valerie, hey girl, what’s up?” asked Allison.

“Omigod! Allie…… AJ…… he….. he….” Valerie tried to say.

“Wow, Valerie; breath…. breath! Now, tell me what happened,” said Allison.

Valerie told Allison everything that happened. The whole time Allison was standing there with her mouth wide open. “Allie! I’m so happy! What should I do? HELP ME!” Valerie screamed.

“OK, well just take it slowly and don’t freak out. Most importantly be yourself! He obviously wants to know you better, so damn girl, go with the flow!”

Valerie smiled, "I guess that you’re right, well, we’d better find ourselves some swimsuits!”

The girls flipped through the racks of swimsuits and found the perfect ones.

“Valerie, look, isn’t it so me?” asked Allison, holding up a green swimsuit.

“Oh, that’s so cute! I wonder why you picked that color?”

“I want Nick to like it,”

“He will, don’t worry…..” Valerie stopped what she was saying and started jumped up and down.

“What?” asked Allison, peeking over Valerie’s shoulder to see what she found.

“Look, leopard skin!!!” screamed Valerie.

“Ah, your little leopard skin obsession” said Allison, rolling her eyes. Valerie was like a magnet when she saw something in leopard skin.

Valerie smiled, “OK, lets put on our swimsuits and go downstairs!”

“Great,” said Allison, who couldn’t wait to see Nicks face when he saw her swimsuit.
