Because they started recording, Golden didn't tour in September. They went to a studio in Boston, so Gwen could be with Monica. Monica went to school in the morning, then Gwen's mother watched her for a few hours. Then Gwen would go get her, and take her back to the studio with her.

The record company had given them a house. It was a rather large 4-bedroom. Downstairs was a huge living room, with a big TV and a elaborate stereo system. Then there was a music room, it had a keyboard and comfy furniture. Tory did a lot of writing in there. There was also a play room for Monica, a kitchen, a dining room and a large bathroom. Upstairs was 2 identical bedrooms, one for Tory and one for Crystal. Gwen's room was a little smaller, and Monica's room was attached to it by double doors.

The album was done in two months. It included Golden's version of "Now I'm A Believer", the song that started this whole thing, "Dream Come True", and a song called "Shades". The song was about love that the girls found, and how it came in different color-like types. They sang it on MTV during their promo tour. After introducing themselves, Tory started.

"You gave me love, a love pure pink. Equal parts of purity, a passion. I love you so much, our love's eternal." Then came the chorus, beautifully harmonized.

"Show me, show me shades of your love. Show me, show me now. Shades of your love."

Then Crystal's part. "A love bright red. That's what we have. So full of passion. Together forever, our love's eternal."

After the chorus repeated, Gwen sang her verse. "Our love shone white. Pure and perfectly beautiful. I'll need you forever, in love together. Our love's eternal."

The chorus repeated a few times, and that song made Golden famous. They released their album, and it did better than great. "Shades" was Golden's big song. The other songs that were released were hits, too, but none of them was as big as "Shades." Golden had a headlining tour setup, and a lot of work to do.
