JOHN MERCHANT

Let me tell you all about this young man, this John Holt Merchant III. He's a bit of a rascal I'd say.
Don't let that baby face and that sweet simple smile fool ya' for one minute! I think he has quite
the sense of humor. Watch out, here comes trouble. And he's my daughter's favorite! Maurice say's
he's the "sequencing guy" and the credits say he plays "off stage keyboards", but in the
liner notes of the One Night Only CD he is listed as having
many other duties. Here's what I do know:
BIRTHDATE...November 13, 1966
BIRTHPLACE...Roanoke, Virginia
CURRENTLY LIVES IN...Miami, Florida
AND HE'S SINGLE LADIES!
John has been with the Bee Gees since March of 1988! Oh baby! That means he was
only 21 when he first started working with them. Other performers he has worked with include
Celine Dion, R. Kelly, The Artist, Extreme, and Arturo Sandoval. What a line up. He plays the
bass, the trombone and believe it or not he even plays THE RADIO! Can you imagine?
What a multi-talented guy! Besides his musical interests, John enjoys tennis and his Macintosh
"because there's no in fun being P.C." he said. Well, I don't know anything about being politically
correct John, but I've had lots of fun making fun of the Bee Gees, and their associates, with my
little old Packard Bell.
Among his favorite things John lists vanilla ice cream (our nation's favorite),
Woody Allen's movie CRIMES AND MISDEMEANERS, and blue as his favorite color. Mine too John.
Hummm, I wonder if his Macintosh is blue. John also likes to correct my spelling and my grammar!!!
