Chapter 5

Talking Of Luck

"Morning, Mr. Brennan," greeted Sarah."How's your night?"
"Good morning, Sarah. I've got a dreadful night. Couldn't close my eyes. I
shouldn't be the one who's with you all now,"
responded Lee followed with a
yawn
,
"Where's Junne?"
"She's out for a walk. What do you mean by saying you shouldn't be the one
who's with us now? You don't like us, do you?,"
she's so anxious to know.
"Don't think of such thing, precious! Well, wanna go out for a
walk?"
answered Lee, giving a friendly smile.
"No. I need to finish preparing breakfast. I think she's at the
beach,"
declined Sarah. The guy sauntered out.

Junne laughed for joy and jumped down the last steps to the

golden sand. It was studded with shells of all sorts.

She had been peering inside one cave.

To the east, the sea was deep blue and calm. Lee found out that

their small boat was gone.

"Maybe the girl's boating," he said.
"Morning, good old Mr. Brennan!," greeted Junne, behind.
"Morning, Good to see you. Don't you take the boat?," he inquired.
"You might get insomnia, cuz I never go near that boat, I'm sure," she
said
, staring at the guy-half startled.
   "No joke please!"
Junne was not pleased at all, cuz the guy thought that she was just
joking. She frowned,
"Joke? No I'm not. Can't you see how serious I am?"
   "Are you sure with that?"
"Yea! I'll throw you into the sea. Trust me, buddy"
"If you could only lift me,"
teased Lee.
   "I certainly can," she said.
"You'd better see the doctor," said Lee, pouting in delight.
   Junne shrugged and stalked off,

"You're kinda guy who gives up just like that," she said loudly,

about to tease him back.
Lee glared at the smiled, irritated Junne and followed her,

"Where's the boat?,"  he asked.
"I dunno!" answered Junne, intensivly, "Where's the boat?," she asked
back
, inquisitivly.
"Junne, goodness knows where," he chuckled.

This made the scowly girl grin.

Jimmy and Akaly were nowhere to be seen,

and bad luck invited them again.

"The boat is gone?," Sarah shouted in surprise.
"What should we do now?," asked Junne.

"Calm down, calm down girls,"

said Lee, looking around and at once saw the
house
.

It began to rain and they ran back to the ship and had their
breakfast.

"How if we peep all around the house?," suggest Junne, "But I prom......"
"Don't promise that you're gonna run toward the sea if you meet any ghoul. I
hope......"
"Sarah, I hope you won't recall me about being hoping to meet chasper."

They trooped into the house and looked around. It's pretty dark
inside
. "Lee, don't move!," Sarah suddenly gave a loud shriek, and made
everyone jump violently
.
   "Why?" asked Lee in dismay.

There are prints on the floor!

"Coz...Let me explain. Look at this shoeprint. Junne, I guess this is just like Jimmy's." The prints ended as they approached a wall.

They could move easily that there are no stuff on
the floor. No chair, no curtains, what a dirty dusty
house.

"He....I.....,"

something infiltrated into Lee's ears.

It's a voice. Perhaps only a voice of blowing air.

He starked. "Can you hear what I heard?," asked Lee in amaze.
   "Something like he....I...?," Junne asked.
"I think the rat know it. They tell me it's sound like help...," joked
Sarah
. They stared, sharply to her.

"Okay fine! I'm kidding. It's....from..."
   They shouted at once,

"The wall!"

,confidently approached the wall to make
sure where the voice came from.

The voice came clearer as they stopped
by a wall.

Gracious!

Something was wrong with the wall so they began to
examine it. Was someone inside it?
"Help...somebody...."
"Yea, it came from here....," shouted Junne, feeling just a bit scared.

Lee who had been ransacking here and there looked up.

"Girls, I found a button on the floor. This might work."
"Hey, there are some numbers on it,"

the girls sat on to take a look more

closer to the numbers on the floor

which their eyes caught by sudden.

"Junne, don't touch it!," thundered Sarah.
But this rather stubborn girl wanted to see the consequent if she pressed the number '666'. Sound like a evil numbers to her.

"Don't touch that," said Lee.

Something strange surrounding him

that he kept on thinking something

horrible and horror was waiting.

"Junne....."
"Junne....We told you so!,"

squealed them to Junne who was about to press the numbers.
"Alright! I won't.....," Junne puffed.

Old Junne couldn't help herself stop thinking of pressing the

numbers.

Nobody knew why she was so anxious to do such thing.

She ogled to them, hands in pocket.
"Girl, don't move your naughty hands. Sarah, come with me. We should move
this shelf."
"Shall I help to clear that out of....."
"No! Stand there and be quiet,"
roared Lee and Sarah.
   Junne laughed, deriding them,

"Trek, trek, trek," Her fingers hit the table,

to make a sound

--her finger can't stop moving as she longed to hit the numbers.

She stood impatiently.
"Let's push it," said Lee. At once Junne ogled at them and said,

"Heyya!," she pounded the numbers.
"Junne! What a nuisance! What have you done,"

rebuffed them, all at once as they whirled.
   "Praakh...Brash! Phash..Praekk....."
The room started to collapse and they shouted in dismay.

There, over there--the pillars were about to fell.

Oh...at last that girl made up her mind to do so.

"I'm sorry....I didn't mean it," said her, rueful.
"Aragh.......," Lee groaned,

ending with a most bloodcurdling yowl when an
old dirty table hit him
.
   "Aragh......," shouted back Junne.
"Shut that hell up, Junne. We've got to do something, quickly," squealed
Sarah
, mooned about looking so angry and miserable.
"I'm trying!," yelled Junne, in a dismay.

She had no idea of what to do,

couldn't think in this kinda situation.

The falling door made them jump.

Junne's terribly uncomfortable,

"It's all my fault, I'm afraid," said her, humbly--almost in tear.
"I'm going to get him," pantered Sarah,"Oh...Junne don't start that"
   "What?"
   "No crying."
"No woman no cry, you know!,"
responded Junne.
"Cry then," Sarah grinned, "oops! Where's Lee?"

Lee's lifting his left leg. He's under a table.

The collapsed wall was covering him

-- make the girls shouted loudly, worried.
"Where are you?"

"Here......"

"I'm here, too,"

that followed by a voice--another voice--as Spike's!.
The girls leaped up toward the guys and quickly uncovered them.

"Gracious--Mr. Dawbarn, what are you doing here?,"

shouted them in delight.

"Hey, up mucker. You're looking well,"

they said out Spike's favourite saying.

"Hey, Mr. Dawbarn! What are you up to, here? Where do you come from? Baby
what's your name? Gotta tell you something, do let me explain. I'm not a kinda
girl who gives up just like that...oh no...The tide is high but I'm holding
on. I wanna be your number one....."

"Not again Junne. It's not the right time to sing. Let's get out of here,"

said Sarah, smilling to the irritated girl.

They laughed,

quite delight as they pushed their way out of the miserable

house,

but Spike's so weak and pale that they had to help him out of there.

When they came to the shore,

safely--they found that Jimmy was waiting for
them--alone and in dismay, rather in a dreadful.

They ran to get each other, delighted and gave friendly punchs.

"Mr. Constable, I don't understand!," said Sarah, pleased.
"And you Mr. Dawbarn, how did you get here?,"

asked Junne after the grinning Sarah.

"Glad to have you all back!"

That day sliped away so quickly.

The next day they gathered in the 'J.S.A. office',

and they told out everything all over again.

"Jimmy, tell us about your adventure," said Sarah.

Jimmy smiled and begin,

"We'd come to a house. I bet you all know it......"

He and Akaly walked into the house

just after the odd girl disappered.
"She's cute indeed, you know."

They found nothing. He could only remember about the
girl that something he couldn't remember what happened,

"You only mentioned about
the girl. Hope you are not falling in love,"
joked Sarah.
"Well, hard to say but I can't deny..ahem," said Jimmy, smilling
broadly
, kidding.

"Jimmy, that 's suck,"

half shouted Junne in surprise, she could hardly
believe her ears.

"He's kiddin', precious!," told Lee.
"He really is," seconded Spike.

Jimmy got back to the story.

When he awoke, he was lying flat out on the

smoot golden sand.

But where's our Akaly?

"I don't know where she is, I'm afraid."

There are a dread silence for a few minutes.

" I hope she's alright," said Sarah.
"She's gonna be okay, don't worry." cried Lee.
"Well, Jimmy. Try to recall it back, then." added Spike.

Jimmy and Akaly Lin realized that

the door was locked and suddenly

a mouse came out from a hole on the wall,

followed by many and more behind.

They noticed the red eyes of the extraordinary rats.
"We tried to get out but I really didn't know how the door got locked--that
before it was unlocked. There was  no way out. The rat bit her. well, I tried
to  help but......"
   "but what?,"
asked Sarah.
"She was acting strange as being hypnosised--it was by sudden, you know."
   "That's terrible! So?"

   They giggled when Jimmy answered,

"you know, a thing will never be the same. She kicked me, you know"
   "That's not prank enough Jimmy,"
chuckled Spike. They nearly died of
laughing.
"I can't believe she'd do such a thing. No way," said Junne.

"Well, believe me if you want. If not, then don't." said Jimmy,

staring at the laughing girl.

"What happened next?," pressed Sarah.

When the guy spoke, they listened, intently.
"Then there was a laughter. Huh! You know, that strange, strange one. Like a
witch, I guess. Then....err.....then...I can't remember whatever happened
after that. I really forgot.I...I....."
"Don't force yourself. Hope she's gonna be okay,"

and Sarah turned to old good strong Spike.

"Spike, do tell you whatever you had."

Spike's frowning in a moment of recalling.

Spike mentioned about the day they were out for ridding.

At the very moment,

Lee disappered to the stable and Jimmy went to the pond,

a extraordinary girl came to Spike,

rather nervous and scared indeed. She had blue eyes,

red dirty trouser and curly hair.

She had been telling Spike that there was a young girl

who's bit by a snake--there--behind the shed so he rushed to the

shed.

"Yea, I noticed that shed.

There were weeds there and here like in the....err....i mean nothing......"
"Sarah, no interrupting!,"
cried Junne,"Go on, Mr. Dawbarn."
"Something hard hit my head and when I opened my eyes, I realized that
I was locked in a room....."
"The room with no door?,"
thundered Jimmy.
"The door was on the door," Spike's explaining and the only way to open it
was to move a statue.
"Did you notice the statue, Jimmy?"
"The man who's got 4 heads? One of them is the head of eagle, then 2 cobra's
heads and the last one is like a head of a rat. Am I right?"
Spike noded.
"That's sound no good to me," said Sarah.
This pretty made Junne think of 'black magic' for evil spirit was no
good at all.

"The truth is out there," said Spike, joking.
   "You never know," added Jimmy.
