Aiel Waste
The harsh, rugged and all-but-waterless land east of the Spine of the World. Homeland of the Aiel, few outsiders enter due to the extreme difficulty in finding water and the rather unfriendly attitude of the Aiel.

Aile Dashar
A group of islands in the Aryth Ocean, due west of World's End.

Aleth-Loriel
Mentioned in the gleeman's tale "The Fall of Aleth-Loriel"

Almoth Plain
A large plain near the Aryth Ocean, south of Arad Doman, north of Tarabon.

Altara
A nation on the Sea of Storms. Altara is bordered by Amadicia and Ghealdan on the west, Andor on the north, Murandy and Illian on the east, and the Sea of Storms on the south.
Includes the capital Ebou Dar, Salidar, Garen's Wall

Amadicia
A nation at the southern tip of the MOM, Amadicia is bordered by Ghealdan in the north, Altara in the east, the River Sharia in the south, and the MOM in the west.

Capital of Amadicia. Stronghold of The COTL and site of their headquarters the Fortress of the Light.

Amador
Capital of Amadicia, site of the COTL's Fortress of the Light.

Andor
A nation bordered by the MOM in the west, Ghealdan, Murandy and the Hills of Kintara in the south, the River Erinin in the east, and the River Arinelle, the Caralain Grass, and the Braem Wood in the North.
Includes the TR, Baerlon, Whitebridge, Arien, Breen's Spring, Carysford, Market Sheran Four Kings, and the capital Caemlyn.
Sign is a rampant white lion on a field of red.

Ankor Dail
A fortress in Shienar, in the Eastern Marches near the Spine of the World.

Arad Doman
A nation on the Aryth Ocean. Arad Doman is bordered by the MOM on the east, the River Akuum and the Almoth Plain on the south, and the Aryth Ocean on the west.

Arafel
One of the Borderlands. Arafel is bordered by Kandor to the west, the River Erinin to the south, Shienar to the east and the Blight to the north.

The sign of Arafel is three white roses on a field of red, quartered with three red roses on a field of white.

Aridhol (a.k.a.: Shadar Logoth, Where the Shadow Waits, Shadow's Waiting)
A city in what is now Andor, north of the road between Baerlon and Whitebridge. Formerly the capital of the nation of the same name, It was destroyed during the Trolloc Wars when the citizen's fear and mistrust turned in on itself, prompted by the King's advisor Mordeth. The city is now occupied solely by an evil called Mashadar that destroys any living thing it contacts.

Arien
A village on the Caemlyn Road in Andor.

Aringill
A town in Andor on the River Erinin.

Aryth Ocean (a.k.a.: World Sea (archaic))
The sea to the west of the continent which contains Andor.

Baerlon
A city in Andor north of the TR, on the road from Caemlyn to the mines in the MOM.

Bandar Eban
Capital city of Arad Doman, a port on the Aryth Ocean.

Bekkar, Field of (archaic) (a.k.a.: the Field of Blood)
Scene of a battle during the Trolloc Wars.

Black Hills
A group of hills west of Tar Valon.

Blasted Lands
Desolate lands surrounding Shayol Ghul, beyond the Great Blight.

Blight, the
see Great Blight.

Borderforts
A string of forts along the Blightborder.

Borderlands
The nations bordering the Great Blight: Saldaea, Kandor, Arafel, Shienar (and formerly Malkier.)

Braem Wood
A large forest, partially in Andor, north of Four Kings and Caemlyn.

Breen's Spring
A town on the Caemlyn Road.

Caemlyn Road
A road extending from Caemlyn to Baerlon.

Caemlyn
Capital city of Andor. Comprised of the Ogier built Inner City, and the human built New City.

Cairhien (a.k.a.: Al'cair'rahienallen (archaic) "The Hill of the Golden Dawn")
A nation bordered by Kinslayer's Dagger in the north, the River Erinin in the west, and the Spine of the World in the east. Also the capital city of that nation. Cairhienin was nearly destroyed in the Aiel War (976-978 NE) and the Shaido War (998 NE) and is still rebuilding.

The sign of Cairhien is a wavy-rayed, many-rayed golden sun rising from the bottom of a field of sky blue.

Camron Caan
A fortress in Shienar.

Caralain Grass, the
A large grassy plain north of Andor.

Carysford
A village on the Caemlyn Road where it crosses the River Cary.

Chachin
The capital city of Kandor.

Cindaking
An island southwest of Mayene.

Crown and Lion
An inn in Caemlyn.

Dancing Cartman, the
An inn in Four Kings.

Deven Ride
A village in the TR, south of EF.

Dhallin Forest
A forest in Ghealdan.

Dragonmount
A large volcanic mountain sitting alone in a plain near Tar Valon. Raised by the Deathstroke of Lews Therin Telamon. Birthplace of the Dragon Reborn (Rand al'Thor).

Drowned lands
A vast expanse of swamps and mires, impassable by land, north of Mayene.

Dun Aren
Mentioned in the gleeman's song "The Road to Dun Aren"

East Gate
A gate at Fal Dara.

Eastern Marches
The area of Shienar near the Spine of the World.

Ebou Dar
Capital of Altara, a port on the Sea of Storms and the River Eldar.

Eldrene's Veil
A waterfall at the beginning of the River Taren, in the Mountains of Mist.

Elmora
A town in Tarabon.

Emond's Field

A town in the Two Rivers, the unofficial capital. Named for a battle that took place on that site 2000 years ago in which King Aemon of Manetheren died.

Eye of the World, the
A pool of pure Saidin created during the Time of Madness against "the greatest need the world had ever seen". Channeled by Aginor and RAT, inside of it was found the Horn of Valere, the Dragon Banner, and one of seven seals on the Dark One's prison, shattered.

Fal Dara (a.k.a.: Mafa Dadaranell (archaic))
A town and fortress in Shienar near the Blightborder.

Fal Moran
The capital city of Shienar.

Fal Sion
A fortress in Shienar.

Far Madding
A town between the Hills of Kintara and the Plains of Maredo, marks where the road from Caemlyn divides to go to Illian and Tear.

Fingers of the Dragon
The delta of the the River Erinin just south of the city of Tear. A maze of waterways choked with weeds and dead ends. Difficult to sail through unless experienced and requiring (by Tairen law) a Pilot onboard every ship that makes the passage.

Forest of Shadows
A forest just south of the Two Rivers in Ghealdan.

Four Kings
A town on the Caemlyn Road, at a crossing with the road to Lugard.

Garen's Wall
A range of hills in the north of Altara.

Ghealdan
A nation bordered by the TR in the north, Altara in the north and east, Amadicia in the south, and the MOM in the west.
Includes Jehannah, the Dhallin Forest,

Godan
A town at the eastern edge of Tear.

Goose and Crown, the
An inn on the Caemlyn Road

Grand Hall
The official reception chamber of the Royal Palace in Caemlyn.

Great Blight
A region in the far north, entirely corrupted by the Dark One. A haunt of Trollocs, Myrddraal, and other creatures of the Dark One.

Green, the
A field of grass, usually in the center of a town. Often used as grazing land by townspeople.

Haddon Mirk
A vast tangled forest north of Tear.

Hall of Servants (archaic)
Meeting place of the Aes Sedai during the AoL. Mentioned by LTT

Herot's Crossing
A place in Malkier.

Hills of Absher
Area of low hills south of the Caemlyn road between Baerlon and Whitebridge.

Hills of Kintara
A range of hills south of Andor between the River Cary and the River Erinin.

Illian
A nation on the Sea of Storms, and the great port that is its capital city. Illian is bordered by Altara to the west, Murandy to the north, The Plains of Maredo to the north and east, and the Sea of Storms to the south.
Includes the capital Illian,
The sign of Illian is nine golden bees on a field of dark green.

Inner City
The Ogier built portion of Caemlyn, centered on the Royal Palace.

Island
A flat, round platform in the ways containing a Guiding and bridges leading to other Islands.

Jangai Pass
A pass through the Spine of the World, on the eastern edge of Cairhien, to the Aiel Waste.

Jehannah
Capital of Ghealdan,

Kandor
One of the Borderlands. Kandor is bordered by Saldaea in the west, Arafel in the east and the Blight in the North.
Includes the capital Chachin
The sign of Kandor is a rearing red horse on a field of pale green.

Katar
A town near the MOM, close to Paerish Swar.

King's Gate
A gate at Fal Dara.

Kinslayer's Dagger
A range of mountains jutting out from the Spine of the World, north of Cairhien.

Lugard
The capital city of Murandy.

Malkier Gate
A gate at Fal Dara.

Malkier
A nation, once one of the Borderlands, now consumed by the Blight. Malkier was bordered by the Mountains of Dhoom on the west, Arafel and Shienar to the south, the Spine of the World on the east, and the Blight on the north.
The sign of Malkier was a golden crane in flight.

Manetheren
One of the Ten Nations that made the Second Covenant, and also the capital of that nation. Destroyed in the Trolloc Wars.
Included the capital Manetheren, and the area now known as the TR.
The sign of Manetheren was a Red Eagle on a field of white.

Saldaea
One of the Borderlands. Saldaea is bordered by the Aryth Ocean on the west, Kandor on the east, and the Blight on the north.
Includes the capital Maradon,
The sign of Saldaea is three silver fish on a field of dark blue.

Manetherendrelle (a.k.a.: the White River (TR folk))
A river beginning in the Mountains of Mist and running along the southern border of the TR and all the way to Illian.

Maradon
The capital city of Saldaea.

Marath
Field where a bloody battle occured during the Aiel War.

Market Sheran
A village on the Caemlyn Road.

Mayene
A small nation at the southern tip of the Spine of the World, east of Tear.

Mire, the
The swamp at the eastern edge of the Waterwood in the TR.

Mos Shirare
A fortress in Shienar.

Mountains of Dhoom
A large chain of mountains, running east-west and seperating the Great Blight from the Borderlands.

Mountains of Mist
A large chain of mountains, running North-to-South, forming the western border of Andor.

Murandy
A nation south of Andor. Murandy is bordered by Andor in the north, Altara in the west, Illian in the south, and the River Cary in the east. Most Murandians do not see themselves as part of a nation, but rather as This Lord's Man or That Lord's Man.

Human built section of Caemlyn surrounding the Inner City.

Niamh Passes
Passes through the Spine of the World, at the eastern edge of Shienar, to the Aiel Waste.

North Road
A road in the TR extending north from the Wagon Bridge in EF to Taren Ferry.

Old Road
A road in the TR extending south from the Wagon Bridge in EF to Deven Ride.

Paerish Swar (a.k.a.: The Darkwood)
A forest east of Almoth Plain, near the MOM.

Panarch's Palace
The palace of the Panarch in Tanchico. Site of a museum that includes some remarkably ancient artifacts.

Pillars of the Sky, the
Mentioned in the gleeman's tale "The Siege of the Pillars of the Sky".

Pit of Doom
A cavern in Shayol Ghul containing a "pit of fire", where the Dark One is trapped.

Plain of Lances
A large plain crossing the border of Saldaea and Kandor.

Plains of Maredo
A large plain between Illian and Tear. Long a source of contention between the two nations.

Qaim
An island west-southwest of Ebou Dar.

Quarry Road
A road leading from EF west through the WW to the base of the SH.

Queen's Blessing, the
An inn in Caemlyn.

Queen's Man, the
An inn on the Caemlyn Road.

River Akuum
A river beginning in the MOM, and extending to Bandar Eban.

River Alguenya
A river beginning northeast of Kinslayer's Dagger, and passing through Cairhien before joining the River Erinin at Aringill.

River Andahar
A river beginning near Paerish Swar and extending to Tanchico.

River Arinelle
A river beginning at Maradon in Saldaea and joining the Manetherendrelle.

River Cary
A river beginning near Caemlyn and joining the Manetherendrelle.

River Dhagon
A river in Arad Doman, beginning near the Mountains of Mist and joining the River Akuum.

River Erinin
A river beginning in the Spine of the World near Shienar, and extending past Tar Valon to Tear.

River Gaelin
A river beginning in the Spine of the World, near Kinslayer's Dagger, and joining the River Alguenya north of the city of Cairhien.

River Haevin
A river beginning in the Black Hills and crossing north of the Caralain Grass before joining the River Arinelle.

River Iralell

Shayol Ghul
A mountain in the Blasted Lands, the site of the Dark One's prison.

Shienar
One of the Borderlands. Shienar is bordered by Arafel on the West, the Spine of the World on the east, and the Blight (formerly Malkier) on the north.
Includes the capital Fal Moran, Fal Dara,
The sign of Shienar is a stooping Black Hawk. By Shienaran tradition King Easar's White Hart is also considered a sign of Shienar.

Shol Arabela
The capital city of Arafel.

South Gate
A gate at Fal Dara.

Spine of the World (a.k.a.: the Dragonwall)
A towering mountain range, running north-south, with only a few passes, that separates the Aiel Waste from the lands to the west.

Spray
Trader's boat belonging to Bayle Domon, about 80 feet long.

Stair of Jehaan
A place in Malkier.

Stedding Shangtai
An Ogier stedding in the Spine of the World east of Haddon Mirk.

Stone of Tear
The fortress guarding the city of Tear. It was probably built during the Time of Madness.

Tar Valon
A city on an island in the River Erinin. The center of Aes Sedai power, and location of the White Tower.

Tarabon
A nation on the Aryth Ocean. Tarabon is bordered by the Almoth Plain on the north, the MOM on the east, Amadicia on the southeast, and the Aryth Ocean on the west.

Taren Ferry
A village at the northernmost point of the TR. The ferry over the River Taren (Tarendrelle) is the only way into the TR other than crossing the MOM.

Tarendrelle (a.k.a.: the River Taren)
A river beginning in the Mountains of Mist and running along the northern border of the TR until it joins the Manetherendrelle.

Tarwin's Gap
A large gap between the Mountains of Dhoom and the Spine of the World, at the northern edge of Shienar, leading to the Great Blight. Site of many battles between Shienar and the Shadow.

Tear
A nation on the Sea of Storms, and the great seaport that is its capital. Tear is bordered by the Plains of Maredo to the east, Haddon Mirk to the north, the Spine of the World and Mayene to the east, and the Sea of Storms to the south.
Includes the capital Tear, Godan,
The sign of Tear is three white crescents on a field of red and gold.

Thakan'dar
An eternally fog-shrouded valley below the slopes fo Shayol Ghul.

The Shadow Coast
A rugged coast south of Tarabon.

Toman Head
A peninsula jutting out from Almoth Plain into the Aryth Ocean.

Tower of Ghenjei
A tower, apparently made of steel but without rust. It is 200 feet high, as big around as a house, but with no entrance. According to BIR it is an entrance to the worlds of the Aelfinn and the Eelfinn.

Tremalking
A large island southwest of Tarabon. Site of the largest female sa'angreal in the world.

Two Rivers
A region in the west of Andor bordered by the River Taren (Tarendrelle) in the northeast, the Mountains of Mist in the west, and the White River (Manetherendrelle) in the southeast.
Includes Taren Ferry, Watch Hill, Emond's Field (unofficial capital), and Deven Ride.
Formerly part of the nation Manetheren, the TR uses Manetheren's Red Eagle as its sign.

Wagon Bridge
A bridge in EF that crosses the Winespring Water.

Watch Hill
A village in the TR, north of EF.

Waterwood
The woods to the east of EF. The Winespring water divides into multiple streams, blanketing the woods with lakes, ponds, streams, and marshes.

Wayfarers' Rest, the
An inn in Whitebridge.

Ways, the
A series of pathways between stedding through a space not connected to the normal world. Enter a Waygate, walk for two days and you can exit through another Waygate hundreds of miles from where you started. The Ways have been rarely used since the War of the Hundred Years, when they began to go dark and Machin Shin was born.

Westwood
The woods west of Emond's Field in The Two Rivers extending to The Sand Hills.
Includes the al'Thor farm, the Dautry farm,

White Boar
The inn in Watch Hill.

White Tower
The headquarters of the Aes Sedai in Tar Valon. The White Tower includes office space for the Aes Sedai as well as training grounds for Warders, novices, and Accepted, living quarters for the Aes Sedai, the novices, Accepted, Warders, servants, etc., Kitchens, storage rooms, guest rooms, everything the Aes Sedai could need. Currently the White Tower is running at minimal occupancy, but a new policy instituted by EAV looks as though it will more than triple the number of residents very soon.

Whitebridge Gate (a.k.a.: Caemlyn Gate)
A gate in Baerlon, leading to the Caemlyn Road.

Whitebridge
A town on the Caemlyn Road at the River Arinelle. Site of a magnificent white bridge, a remnant of the AoL.

Windbiter's Finger
A chain of islands extending southwest from The Shadow Coast.

Winespring Inn
EF's only inn, and home to BAV and his family. The common room also serves as the meeting place for the Village Council.

Winespring Water
A stream originating at the Winespring in EF and moving east to the Waterwood.

Winespring
A spring on the Green of EF.

World's End
Cliffs at the western edge of Saldaea, near the Mountains of Dhoom.
