The Dark Times: Part 1

Dark Lord Eric (DLE), Trystan, and Kharis Knightwind walk somewhere in the desert of Figaro.

Trystan: Why are we here?

Kharis: I have no clue. Ask DLE.

DLE: I don't know, I'm too busy writing my sig and am oblivious to the world around me. But I think I'll insert a perverse comment anyway. (yells a perverse comment into the wind, visibly angering it)

A sandstorm throws the still-writing DLE back several miles into a herd of trampling chocobos, ouch.

Kharis: Should we go help him?

Trystan: Why?

Kharis: Because...well, um, ah, never mind.

There is a explosion in the distance as DLE materializes in front of them.

DLE: I dislike chocobos.

Kharis: (wiping chocobo guts off of himself) So it would seem..


Meanwhile...

Marie: Where's Golbez?

Tritoch: He has psychiatric treatment scheduled for today.

The door to the psychiatrist's office blows open and mad laughter fills the air.

Tritoch: Yep, that's him.

Golbez: Ahahahaha! I'm mad with power! (casts Pearl on self) Ow.

Marie: Sure, Golbez.

Shadow walks in.

Marie: Hi Shadow!

Shadow: Can it.

Marie: What's wrong with you? Having a bad day?

Shadow walks in.

Shadow: Hi, who's having a bad day?

Tritoch: Why are there two Shadows?

Both Shadows: Ahhhhhh! Die!

They proceed to throw things at each other when Golbez flies in laughing his head off and throwing Dispels everywhere, making the first Shadow who walked in disappear.

Tritoch: (gets blasted into a wall by a Dispel) Ahh! You fool! Never cast Dispel on an Esper! (zaps Golbez)

Golbez: Thanks, I needed that.

Tritoch: Good, I'll do it again. (zaps Golbez)

Shadow: Why was there another of me in here?

Indeed, why were there two Shadows? Stay tuned to Chapter 2 to find out!
