'I'm really sorry. I'm really seriously in love with Wei Sheung.' said Kaika.
'...So why do you treat me so well? Why do you promise my parents to take care of me? Why?' said Chi Fan, holding Kaika really tight, her eyes were hot and red,very likely to start crying.
'I'm sorry! I really treasure you as my sister... You know, I'm the only child in my family... Our family has been much more lively after your arrival. I'm sorry...' said the sorrowful Kaika.
'How could you ... How could you... All right. I'll leave here and find Chichiri by myself. I sincerely hope that you'll be very happy with Wei Sheung... Take care of yourself, good bye!' Chi Fan could not hold back her tears anymore. She ran as fast as she could after saying goodbye to Kaika.
As a reflex, Kaika ran after her. Though he didn't love her, he really treasured her as his sister. He could not leave her at risks alone. When he finally caught Chi Fan up, he realized they were at the edge of a steep slope and were about to fall because Chi Fan was struggling with hm. Darkness made them both couldn't see the warning signpost of that steep slope. Kaika let go of Chi Fan, not pulling her to fall with him. He rolled down the slope very rapidly and landed on branches of a scrub, fainted.
Kaika was saved by the villagemen when Chi Fan called for help after the accident occured. He was serverely hurt with wounds full of his body. He remained unconcious still. Chi Fan felt very sorry about the injury of Kaika and she vowed to take care of him until he recovered. She made up her mind that she would comit suicide if he died.
Two days passed by and Chi Fan had stayed by the side of Kaika, not leaving him. In the middle of that two nights, music played with a flute filled the room of Kaika when Chi Fan fell asleep due to tiredness.
It was the third day. Chi Fan looked after Kaika as usual. When she was blaming herself in her heart, a visitor would like to see Kaika and she finally agreed to leave his room for a while under the visitor's request.
Meanwhile, Kaika heard the music of the flute again. When he opened his eyes, he saw another him kissing himself with some herbal medicine!
'Sorry, Amiboshi... I love Yui.' Another him said to himself.
'Subo...'said himself and all his vision was black out again. 'Who is Yui? No, I don't love Yui. I love Wei Sheung.' Thought he.
'Wei Sheung...'
' Kaika? Kaika! Can you hear me? Kaika!' The music stopped and Kaika heard someone shouting his name and holding his hand tightly.
What he previously saw was a dream. When he tried his best to open his eyes, the weary face of Wei Sheung was what he first saw. He had come round finally.
' Wei Sheung... Ah!' When Kaika tried to get up, he felt great pain.
'Don't move! You are very seriously hurt... I'm so worry about you. It is really good that you regained your conciousness...' said Wei Sheung with a bitter smile.
'No, Wei Sheung... I have to get up, I have to go asking your father to propose you.' Said Kaika, tried to get up again and bore the pain.
'No, don't harm yourself! Stay back!... I know it's not your fault but it's too late now... Yesterday a rich mechant's son have asked my father for proposing me and given a lot of expensive presents to us. My family is poor and we have owed him certain amount of money before... My father accepted his proposal for a higher living standard for my family... I'm so selfish that I once asked you to propose me but it's really my destiny that I don't have the fortune to be your wife...' said Wei Sheung with a stiff smile.
'...Do you love him?'
'It doesn't matter now. I have to marry him next month anyway.'
