Firstly, Sammi was rumoured to have broken up with Andy Hui because during the filming of A Man's Best Friend, she accidentally fell in love with her co-star, Louis Ku. This news was supposedly confirmed by the paparazzi when they took shots of Louis and Sammi alone at a karoke and then leaving together. However, it was later clarified by Sammi and Louis that the whole cast of A Man's Best Friend were at the karoke as well to celebrate the sucess of the serial. They left together because Louis thought he'd give Sammi a ride seeing they both live around the same area anyway. Moreover, Sammi said that even if she did go out with Louis alone, there would be nothing wrong with that because they are really good friends and so why can't they go out together? They became good friends after working together in A Man's Best Friend and finding out that they have a lot in common. Sammi admires Louis' straight and honesr personality as he only says what he thinks and isn't fake which is similar her own character. Louis, on the other hand, thinks Sammi is a great person and not in fact what the media puts her to be. She isn't hard to get along and doesn't throw temper tantrums at people. She is genuinely a nice person and most important of all, normal just like everyone else.

Sammi was invited to be guest of a radio broadcast and subsequently held an interview with her. A famous psychic was also asked to attend the radio show. The host told the psychic to tell the audience about Sammi's life, personality, etc. The psychic was able to analyse that Sammi's peak career point is between the ages of 25 and 34 and that she has a good personality as she is kind-hearted and cares about her family and friends. However, her honest and straight personality can sometimes get her into trouble and makes it hard for other people to get along with her. Sammi's negative points are that she thinks she konws everything and that ever since her surge in fame, she has changed and loves to flaunt her fame and status in front of people. Sammi defended herself by saying that she does in fact accept other people's opinions and that she has not changed at all. However, she does admit that her does honesty does get her into troubles a lot of the times.
In addition, the psychic commented on the fact that there is a probability that Sammi could get married in the year 2004 due to pregnancy. To this, Sammi responded that she doesn't have plans to start a family in the future but if it is true, she'll accept the fact and perhaps retire from the entertainment industry to become a 100% house wife.

Sammi's most recent news would be her rumour with Nicolas Tse, who is 8 years her junior. Again, the paparazzi supposedly caught them alone at Nicolas' house. As a result, they were rumoured to be going out together and were both criticised of having a brother-sister romance since Sammi is so much more older than Nicolas. However, this rumour was cleared up Andy Hui in an interview, saying that they didn't have a secret meeting together because there were about 15 other people at Nicolas' house on that night as well. He said that all of his friends occasionally get together to party at different houses and it just so happened that it was Nicolas' turn that night.
In the interview, Andy also expressed his anger and disgust over the rumour as it was all false and it really affected Sammi, upsetting both her image and her feelings. Andy said that although Sammi did not cry to him about it, he was abe to see the pain she was going through all because of the rumour. After having said that, Andy's eyes were filled with tears. From this, it can be seen that they have a very intimate relationship. Andy also said that the paparazzi had gone too far this time and that they were intruding in too much of their personal lives. He agrees with Sammi's record company, Warner, in putting up a legal notice warning that they will take legal action if any more news of this sort is written about Sammi that will deteriorate her image and therefore her singing career. In the mean time, Sammi is seeking legal advice to sue the magazine that started the story.
So far, Sammi has remained silent about the rumour as she doesn't see a need in explaining herself when she is innocent. Nicolas, on the other hand, has tried to clarify the rumour and said that there could never be a romantic relationship between him and Sammi because he only takes her as an elder sister and besides, he doesn't go for girls who are older than him.
