front of VCR tape box back of VCR tape box

This is the front and back of the VHS video tape box promoting Pokemon. Many subscribers of Nintendo Power Magazine received this tape in the mail during the summer of 1998. The tape has clips from the anime, and in true Nintendo advertising fashion, has a variety of corny people who talk about their knowledge of the characters.

promo tape The tape is fun to watch. I especially enjoyed seeing all the toys that were shown, including a gigantic Snorlax and zillions of plush Pikachu! Ash's "aunt" wore a Pocket Pikachu as a brooch!
