Life Isn't Always Easy

Life has its trials and obstacles,
It's measure of setbacks and spills.
Life has its true disappointments.
It's mountains that start out as hills.

Sometimes we can't find the answers,
Often we end up depressed.
Frequently we have the feeling
That life is a terrible test.

Simple solutions elude us.
Difficult questions remain.
Thought is a lingering burden,
A well of emotional pain.

Nevertheless there's a dignity
That we eventually find,
Born of a growing awareness
Of victories won in the mind.

No Battles can ever be greater
Than those that may never be won.
The fact that you've gallantly struggled
Is one fact that can't be undone.

The past is a bundle of memories
Infusing the present with tears.
But you are that person courageous
Who valiantly still persevere.
