The Impossible Mission
The only really funny part in this episode is the opening, a clever parody of Mission:Impossible. Max and 99 go undercover as a musician and a dancer to prevent the Leader from obliterating the human race. Trapped, with seemingly no escape, Max tells 99 that he'd marry her if they can escape. 99 then devises a plan and the engagement is on.

Snoopy Smart vs. the Red Baron
KAOS has devised a new chemical that has wiped out the entire potato crop of the U.S. While investigating in Idaho, Max and 99 stop off at 99's mother to discuss their engagement. There, they find Siegfried working as a KAOS crop duster, about to destroy the entire vegatable crop, even kumquats!

Closely Watched Planes
Max is assigned to protect a CONTROL courier, who disappears during an airline flight. Max becomes the next courier and 99 works as a flight attendant to discover how KAOS is kidnapping the agents. The cockpit fight scene is a classic.

The Secret of Sam Vittorio
Dying mobster Sam Vittorio will only reveal the location of his hidden loot to his proteges, Connie and Floyd, who look remarkably like Max and 99. Using their appearance to its advantage, Max and 99 visit Sam, but the real Connie and Floyd break jail and also show up at Sam's bedside. I1ve always felt this to be one of the weaker episodes.

Diamonds Are a Spy's Best Friend
While buying 99's engagement ring, Max stumbles on a robbery and receives a huge diamond to keep it out of the thieves hands. Returning to the jeweler, Max follows clues to a bowling alley and The League of Bald Men.

The Worst Best Man
As soon as Max asks someone to be his best man, they get killed or severely injured by KAOS. The Chief orders Max to make Hymie his best man, since Hymie is indestructible. This falls right into KAOS's plans to ruin Max's bachelor party. This is another episode that has confused many trivia buffs. Though this episode clearly has Hymie about to become best man, Hymie is not in the wedding episode.

A Tale of Two Tails
Max is teaching tailing at spy school and assigns two rookie agents to follow 99 as she picks up wedding items. Unknown to Max, 99 is also on assignment and is really picking up the Gaul Formula. She spots the tails and believes them to be KAOS agents.

The Return of the Ancient Mariner
The Admiral returns to speak at a top secret conference and also be Max's best man, since the Chief sent Hymie out of the country. Another KAOS disguise expert, the Chameleon, tries to kidnap the Admiral and take his place at the conference.

With Love and Twitches
On the night before his wedding, Max meets with Dr. Madre, who's escaped from KAOS with the plans to the Melnick uranium mine. Dr. Madre has Max unknowingly drink the map, which will appear as a map on his chest, but only if Max remains standing for 48 hours. KAOS kidnaps Max and Dr. Madre and Max must escape and remain standing if he is to make it to his wedding and preserve the map.

The Laser Blazer
Max goes to a Hong Kong tailor to pick up a new secret weapon, but returns with only a suit. Leaving the suit for 99 to send to the cleaners, Max goes to the Chief to tell him his mission was a failure. The Chief reveals that the blazer is the weapon and it fires a laser every time you put your hand in its pocker.

The Farkas Fracas
Max invites the Chief over for dinner, upsetting 99 because she has no dessert ready and the Chief loves dessert. 99 borrows dessert from her nosy next-door neighbor, Naomi Farkas, who is a KAOS spy and who poisons the chocolate mousse. Tom Bosley and Alice Ghostley appear as the Farkas' in an episode that is a favorite of famed Sports Illustrated writer Tim Kurkjian.

Temporarily Out of CONTROL
Just before Max is to leave on his honeymoon, he and the Chief are called to active duty in the Navy. When the two new sailors need to leave the ship to capture a spy, they can't convince the captain that they're spies and they're sent to the brig.

Schwartz's Island
While sailing on their honeymoon, Max blows up the boat, marooning them on a deserted island. The island is an artificial island, built by KAOS and commanded by Siegfried, contains a giant magnet that will lure the U.S. Navy into a deathtrap. The island is supposedly named Schwartz's island after the KAOS scientist who built it, but it's really named that because it's the set for Gilligan's Island, which was created by Sherwood Schwartz.

One Nation Invisible
Max is visited by Dr. Canyon, who feeds Max her new invisibility potion. Max uses his invisibility to infiltrate KAOS HQ and steal the Finzburg papers, unaware that his invisibility potion is wearing off.

Hurray for Hollywood
KAOS is using a new play to pass information on to its agents. Max gets a role as a butler and 99 as Lady Fannie, where Max takes hamming it up to new heights.

The Day They Raided the Knights
A computer orders 99 laid off when budget cuts hit CONTROL. She goes to work at Knight's Stamp Redemption Center, which is actually a KAOS front for distributing its stereophonic pistols. The Chief and Larabee disguise themselves as housewives to penetrate the Center.

Tequila Mockingbird
CONTROL wants the Tequila Mockingbird and Max and 99 are sent to Mira Loma to keep it out of KAOS' clutches. Max poses as a bad doctor and 99 as a dancer where they find an ax with a clue.

I Shot 86 Today
KAOS golfers have been somehow destroying U.S. space centers, so Max and 99 take up golf. Max picks up trick golf supplies from CONTROL and tries to keep an eye on the golf pro, who is really a KAOS agent.

Absorb the Greek
The Chief takes up computer dating and is seeing a gorgeous young woman. Ordered to follow the Chief by the President, Max and 99 try to break up that romance while convincing the Chief to date 99's mother.

To Sire, With Love Parts I and II
Max's resemblance to the King of Coronia is needed as the King is endangered by Rupert of Rathskeller. The two switch identities, but Rupert discovers the switch and sends a trained tarantula to kill Max. James Caan appears as Rupert.

Shock it to Me
Ex-dead scientist Dr. Zharko is bringing dead KAOS agents back to life. Max and 99 hunt through caves to find and stop Dr. Zharko, who is wonderfully overplayed by Tom Poston, who many originally wanted to play Maxwell Smart.

Leadside
Wheelchair bound mastermind Leadside is caught in a robbery by Max and announces a three-part plan. Phase one, he will escape from Max. Phase two, he will destroy CONTROL. Phase three, he will kill Maxwell Smart. After Leadside follows through on Phases One and Two, Max holes up in his apartment.

Greer Window
Max gets shot in his buttocks and convalesces at his apartment. From there, he can use binoculars to watch 99 in her undercover assignment at Greer Construction. Helpless, Max sees 99 discovered and in trouble.

The Not-So-Great-Escape
CONTROL agents are being kidnapped at a record pace, and when the Chief is kidnapped at the airport, Max takes over CONTROL. He discovers that the agents are being sent to Camp Gitchee Goommee Noonie Wa-Wa, a KAOS P.O.W. camp in New Jersey. Max disguises himself as Major Kessler and tries to break the agents out of the camp, but his disguise is penetrated by Commadant Siegfried.
