With Austin it was more of a brother sister thing and the fact that Pike was there for only a few episodes should tell you that there was just no chemistry there. Mac is the best choice. I think that she and Harm would have much more fun together. And besides, they look better together. :)

(Best?) Aside from the obvious fact that they made a very striking couple, I liked the interactions between Harm and Meg. Their relationship was very natural and realistic. Although she was his junior officer, she still teases him in away that makes us laugh, yet at the same time reserving some of the respect that is required of a junior officer to a senior officer. They had great chemistry on the screen unlike the chemistry (or lack thereof) between Mac and Harm. Not to mention the underlying sexual tension between Meg and Harm. With Mac, emotions seem to be kept at an arm's length.

(Best?)I've been watching JAG on and off since its first episode. Kate Pike was never really established as much of a character, so she was never in the running (and Andrea Parker is much better situated in "The Pretender", anyway). Now, don't get me wrong I liked Meg. She was a good character, but Mac is the better one. She's stronger, tougher, seems smarter, not a studio brass decision, Bell is a better actress.. and the list goes on. She and DJE have a great chemistry together, and it just makes for a better show.
