Liam gives you a measuring look, then leads you to his car. "I'm going to take you to our headquarters," He tells you.
You get a creepy feeling as you get into his car, you flash on all the times your mother warned you against this very thing, well, not the vampire killing part…
With a shrug you settle into the passenger's seat and pull on your seat belt. The car smells of tobacco and peppermint you're surprised to notice, but then again, what had you been expecting? The over powering stench of rotting vampire flesh? You laugh nervously at your own thoughts and Liam gives you a stern look.
Suddenly you wish you hadn't gotten into the car, in fact, you're really wishing you'd just stayed home tonight all together. If only the Profiler hadn't been a rerun!
As he puts his car into gear and pulls out, you glance back down the alley, and though you can't see it, knowing there was a dead body down there made the whole place seem darker, the street lights outside more sharp and gritty. You cuddle back into your seat and continue to clutch the book to you, like a security blanket…a hard, uncomfortably pointed security blanket.
Eventually, you arrive at a darkened bookstore. Liam leads you to the front door and pulls out a set of keys. After going in, Liam pulls you to the back room where you're introduced to a group of hard eyed men and women who are almost as scary as the vampire from the club.
You try to smile, but since no one smiles back, you give up.
Just then, Liam launches into a speech on the 'honor of vampire hunting.' You force yourself to nod when you think it's appropriate, but all you really want is to get the hell out of there. Suddenly the speech turns into one about destiny, then Liam turns to you and asks if you want to join.
