My Meeting with Peta Wilson
In February, I was in LaGuardia airport in NYC waiting for my flight to
Florida. This was during the American Airlines strike and I was delayed but not
canceled (a pun among the group).
While sipping some coffee, I noticed a tall blonde woman in the distance
getting a drink at a concession. I was pretty sure it was Peta Wilson.
However, you see many pretty women in this airport, still I was 99% sure. So, I went
over and asked her if she was who I thought she was. She told me I was
correct.
She was one of the most charming people I've ever met. There was no, I'm a
star you're not, mentality there. We must have talked for 20 minutes. She had been
up since 5 AM finishing a movie with Ellen Barkin [Mercy]. We discussed the
show and her career. I didn't have to tell her my name, she asked. She seemed
understandably tired, but remained very cordial. In fact, after we said our
good-byes, I returned with a borrowed camera (my good cameras were unloaded
since I was passing through x-ray detectors shortly, a dumb move). She gladly
posed with me although she stated she "must look terrible." I told her that's not
a worry she should have.
Well, from my experience, she is a beautiful and charming person. A pleasant
chance meeting. People, she is very nice in person and that's nice to know.
