Rules

Bruno falls in love with Lisa, a lady he meets at Caruso's. But the course of true love doesn't run smooth when she turns out to be Shorofsky's student teacher. They try to make it work, but conflict between his friends being her students is too great, and she breaks it off with Bruno. In anger, Bruno pulls his music from the showcase the students have been working on. In the end, he and Lisa reach an understanding


Take My Wife....Please

The arrival of Trevor Kane's (Anthony Newley's) ex-wife Daphne to the school raises tensions when Chris begins to fall for her.
Meanwhile Cleo trys to get a date with Leroy with the help of a little
advice from Nicole and Holly


Danny de Bergerac

Chris is directing a street version of Cyrano de Bergerac, which he wrote himself, and driving everyone crazy in the process. Danny has his own set of problems. Playing Cyrano, he finds that he is playing to Jesse's Christian. The girl is played by Nicole, the only problem being that since rehearsals have been going on, Danny has fallen in love with Nicole. He's not sure if he can go on telling Jesse as Christian all these sweet words to Nicole when that's how he really does feel about her. Danny has a day-dream about how he feels. To make matters worse, Nicole's parents don't like Jesse. Holly comes up with the idea of a fake boyfriend, one so horrible that Nicole's parents will see Jesse as a likeable alternative. So who do they ask to be the boyfriend, but Danny. Chris tries to convince him that this is a bad idea, and Danny initially balks, but a couple of beseeching looks from Nicole later, he finds himself agreeing. Can they all have a happy ending?


Tomorrow's Children

The founding of an ROTC program in the school leads to tensions with the anti-war movement. Miss Sherwood quits her job in defence of the nuclear freeze while at the same time becoming romantically involved with the ROTC commander. Meanwhile Miss Grant inspires the students to a sit-in when they are banned from doing a show to benefit the nuclear freeze. This episode features a guest appearance from Joan Baez.

Ian's Girl

Ian is in the middle of a bout of homesickness when he mentions that his old band from London might be coming to New York. They arrive, and old feelings are reawakened when he spends time with his ex-girlfriend Joanna. Reggie feels a litle left out when Ian cuts rehearsal to spend practice for a gig with the Driven. The gang go to Ian's concert, but it's not really their cup of tea, especially Dusty and Jillian. Reggie gets jealous when she sees Ian and Joanna on stage together, and makes her way to the foot of the stage. A guy there begins to hit on her, and Ian, seeing the unwelcome advances, leaps down from the stage and fights with the guy, headbutting him into submission. After the gig, regardless of the fact he got into a fight over another girl, he reaffirms his love for Joanna with a love song. After a fight with Shorofsky, Ian has run-ins with Reggie and Jesse and tells Joanna he's going to leave the school and go with her. He says a first goodbye to Reggie who convinces him to go to Lous to say goodbye in spite of Joanna's objections. At Lou's, he has a final farewell with Reggie. However,when it comes to the crunch, he can't go through with it, and ends up staying at the School.


Go Softly Into Morning


Nobody takes any notice when it's Monday morning and Nicole and Danny are late to rehearsal. But a phone call to the school brings some terrible news. Danny, Nicole and Mikey Garth,who was driving drunk, were going home from the party when the car hit a lamppost. Mikey and Danny had some minor injuries, but Nicole was killed.
As the school tries to come to terms with the tragedy, Mr Dyrenforth, Chris, Dusty, Lou Mackie, Miss Grant Ian and Reggie all talk into the camera, sharing their memories of Nicole.
Jesse takes the news hard, and when he hears that Mikey will probably get off with probation, he resolves to kill him. He's stopped when Danny, consumed with guilt over his role in the accident, finally manages to get through to him, and the two cry in each other's arms. The students decide to set up a chapter of SADD in the school, and hold a memorial concert for Nicole. Also featured in this episode is the song Just To See Your Face Again
