It is now in the middle of the night. Lucky wakes up. Liz's arm is across his chest. he gently lifts it off, being careful not to wake her. He gets up from the bed, putting only his jeans on, and quietly walks out of the bedroom.Lucky walks down the long hallway to the nursery. He walks in the room and over to Lacey's crib. He looks down on her as she sleeps, still in disbelief that she is really his. He gently lifts the baby out of the crib and into his arms. Lucky walks over to the rocking chair and sits down. He held his daughter up to his bare chest and feels her little hands trying to hold on to him.
Lucky: Oh Lacey.....I am so sorry for not being there when you were born. (Tears forming in his eyes) I am here now and I am never going to leave you or your mom ever again, you have my word on that. You are such a blessing in my life and you are my little miracle and I love you.
Lucky did not know it but Liz was standing in the doorway, watching him with Lacey. Just then, the baby started to fuss.
Lucky: Shhh, it's okay, Daddy's here. (He started to sing)
I've got sunshine On a cloudy day When its cold outside I've got the month of MayLacey stopped fussing and started to fall back to sleep
I'd guess you'd say What can make me feel this way My girl Talking 'bout my girl My girl mmm mmmmLucky got up from the chair and walked back over to the crib. He placed her back down in the crib and then kissed her cheek. Liz than walked over to Lucky and put her hand on his shoulder.
Lucky: How long have you've been here?
Liz: Long enough, I guess she loves your singing almost as much as I do.
Lucky smiles at her and they both look down at their daughter. The little person they created together out of love.
Lucky: Good night my little miracle.
Liz took Lucky's hand in her own and led him back to the bedroom.
