Lucky Spencer, CEO of Spencer Computing sat at his desk in his office staring blankly at his computer screen. He had a mountain of paper work on his desk that he needed to go threw, but he was just so distracted. This time of year always got to Lucky; he would always find himself thinking about Elizabeth and the love they once shared.
Lucky opened his desk drawer, he shuffled threw some files and finally found what he was looking for. He pulled out the picture of him and Elizabeth from the No Name. His eyes fixated on Elizabeth, she was so beautiful. His mind went back to that night when they danced and how good it felt to touch her and hold her body close to his. It was that night when he realized how much he loved her.
Lucky brought his fingertip up to his lips and kissed it and then touched the picture. "Happy Valentine's day Angel."
Lucky slightly smiled and put the picture safely back in his desk. It had been 15 years since they were last together, since they left each other. He had seen her sometimes when she was home from school, but he rarely spoke to her.
He then caught himself looking at another picture that was on top of his desk. It was a picture of his precious pride and joy, his daughter Lauren. Lauren was seven years old and she was the only light in Lucky's life. Lucky and his ex-wife Pam had divorced when Lauren was just five years old. They had been married for eight years and when Pam realized that Lucky did not love her they way she wanted to be loved, they divorced. Pam knew in her heart it was because of the woman Lucky was once in love with, she could never compete with that. Lucky never ever wanted to hurt Pam, he did love her, but he was not in love with her.
Pam Morris and Lucky dated off and on for about three years before they married. Pam knew from the beginning that Lucky had been deeply in love before, but she thought she would one day be enough for Lucky. That day never came and Pam knew she had to let Lucky go. Pam and Lucky share joint custody of Lauren, during the school year, Lauren lives with her mother in Pennsylvania and she spends the summer and every other holiday with her father in Port Charles. Lauren and Lucky are very close and Lucky always treasures his limited time with his little girl. Lucky and Pam try to get along for Lauren's sake, but also try to remain distant for their own sakes.
Lucky knew he would never and could never love another woman the way he loved Elizabeth. He also knew she was no longer his to love. Lucky was aware that Liz had gotten married to a big time lawyer and had two children, but he always would long for her. Lucky was glad Elizabeth was happy and she had made a good life for herself, but his heart would always ache for her.
As Lucky was staring off in space, he jumped by the sound of ringing phone. "Yeah….okay, send her in."
A few seconds later Lucky's office door opened and his mother came in. "Hey Lucky."
Lucky got up from his desk and walked over to his mother to give her a hug. "Hey mom, what brings you here?"
"I just wanted to inform you that Liz is coming back to town to settle Audrey's estate." Lucky expression changed and he walked over to the window. "Oh I'm so sorry honey, I just thought you would want to know."
Lucky turned around to face his mother. "It's okay, I'm okay. Thanks for telling me."
"Sure." Laura leaned in to kiss Lucky on the cheek. "I'll see you later."
"Bye mom."
Laura left Lucky's office and he went back over to his desk. For the first time in 15 years, he knew this was going to be the visit where he and Liz were going to talk, they had some major unfinished business.
