Alexis walked into the station with Jason. She stared at Lucky for a second, she had believed Jason but to see him with her own eyes… She took a deep breath and got into her lawyer mode. "I want you to know that anything my client has said since before right now is irrelevant. His lawyer wasn't present. Now if you'd like to question him I'd like a minute alone with him first."
"No problem." Said Mac.
Alexis raised her eyebrow in concern. They never gave in that easily, "That easy?"
"Lucky Spencer is not part of the Mob like your other clients." Said Taggert, he stopped when Mac gave him a look. "You can go into the interrogation room."
After speaking with Lucky and hearing the whole story she told him to answer all their questions unless she spoke up first. He explained to the cops where he'd been and everything after that. Alexis had tried to stop him from telling it all including where he went to Helena planning on shooting her, but he refused to stop. Mac and Taggert stepped outside the room to talk and Alexis said, "Why did you do that?"
"Because I don't lie. I shot her, I wanted her dead and she is. I made a lot of people's lives much easier by doing so too. Including yours."
"You got that right. I'll try to help you as best I can Lucky but…"
"I know. I'll take what they give." Lucky heard Liz's voice then. When he turned around he could see her standing next to Jason talking. He looked at her and hoped he'd get another chance to hold her in his arms. Mac and Taggert came back into the room. "So you going to lock me up and throw away the key?"
"No." said Mac.
"You're free to go." Said Taggert.
Alexis and Lucky looked at them in shock. That's when Dara came in and said, "Well I guess you're free to go Mr. Spencer."
"What's going on?" asked Lucky.
"We have no evidence. You didn't admit to nothing." Mac went to go on but Lucky went to interrupt so he said, "You DIDN'T admit to nothing and we have no evidence that you did it. No gun, no witnesses, and no confession. I guess we'll have to do a little investigating but I doubt we'll find anything."
Lucky looked at the three of them and said, "you sure?"
"You've been through enough Lucky. Now get out of here." Said Taggert.
Lucky did just that. As soon as he opened the door Liz jumped in his arms. He hugged her and said, "It's over now Elizabeth. No one will hurt us anymore."
"You don't have to go to jail?" she asked. Sonny and Jason came over to the waiting for his answer.
Before he could speak Alexis said, "Nobody saw anything, nobody heard anything, theirs no confession and there's no weapon. Go home now."
Before leaving the police station Sonny went over to Mac, Dara, and Taggert, "I never thought I'd say this to you, and I'll never say it again, but thank you. That kid deserves a medal." Then he turned and they all left the station.
Lucky was setting up at Luke's. He'd been working there getting bands and stuff for the past four months. Liz lived in a small apartment and he stayed with his parents all though he was with her more than home. He wanted to ask her to marry him but couldn't think of the right way to do it. Until now. He picked up the phone and dialed a familiar number. "Jenny? Hi its Lucky." Lucky had talked to Sly a lot even know his cousin was always busy. He had a contract with L&B and had been on tour a lot. "Sly still on tour?"
"If you think you can do it Cowboy then the stage is yours. What do you want me to do?"
"Just call the people on this list. Invite them here for a Sly Eckert concert. Don't tell them anything else. I have to go Sly should be here any minute. Don't close the place down or anything. Everyone is welcome, but I want the people on the list to definitely be here. Those people are important to me and Elizabeth."
Lucky left his dads office and saw his cousin coming in the door. "Sly!"
The two hugged. It was the first time seeing each other since he made the tape for Elizabeth. "Well if it ain't my dead cousin."
"Yeah and my famous one. Thanks for doing this man."
"My pleasure. Let's set up. I know all the songs you want to do. I have the keyboard and the guitar. You know it's going to be weird singing these other songs. I'm only used to my own."
Lucky peeked out carefully so Liz wouldn't see him. She was sitting at a table with Emily, Juan-who he didn't hate anymore- Nikolas, and Gina. Also there was everyone from his list, Bobbie, Roy, Laura, Luke, Jason, Carly, and Sonny. He saw others that he hadn't invited Mac and Felicia, Taggert and Dara, and Ned and Alexis. He smiled and went back to his cousin. They were all set. They were just waiting for Luke to make the introductions.
Luke stuck his head behind the curtain and the boys nodded. He stood up and grabbed the mic. "Okay everybody!" he shouted. "Welcome back to Luke's the coolest place in town. Run by the coolest person, that's me." Everyone laughed. "Okay we have something a little different for you today." Luke paused and when he did Liz leaned over to Emily and said, "I'm going to kill Lucky, he begs me to come and doesn't even show up."
"I'd like to introduce Port Charles very own and for the first time together, Sly Eckert and Lucky Spencer!" The curtain went up and the boys stood there each with a mic, Lucky with a guitar, and Sly Behind a keyboard. They both had on khaki pants and tight black T-shirts. Everyone looked surprised to see Lucky up there but clapped anyway. Elizabeth was smiling at them but at the same time wondering what was going on.
Sly said, "Okay I usually don't do this kind of thing, but we have a few different songs that Lucky picked out. After we're done I'll do a few of my own. Sit back relax and enjoy the show."
Lucky's guitar started and then Sly came in with the keyboard. Lucky looked directly at her while he sang. Sly was doing backup.

Lucky lowered the mic a little and sat down on the chair his father had brought up. "Hi, I uh wrote this song about four years ago and I've never once sung it to anyone but who it was written for, so here I go." As he started to play the notes on his guitar he saw Liz's face brighten.

ElizabethWhen he stopped everyone applauded again. Liz had tears in her eyes and a few other girls were crying too. Lucky looked at Sly and his cousin stood up reached into his pocket. Lucky walked over to the table and Sly handed him the box from his pocket. Lucky got down on one knee and opened the box. "Elizabeth I love you and I really can't remember a time in my life that I didn't. For so long you have consumed my soul, you have my heart, and more than anything I want you to be my wife. Will you marry me?"
She was staring at him, she couldn't believe he'd just asked her. She'd been waiting for this for years. "Yes. Yes I will marry you." She said then reach down at the same time he came up and they kissed.
Lucky looked up at her with a smile, "Damn good answer." He said repeating what he said the night he asked her to be his girl. There was a rush of people congratulating him. He laughed when he heard Carly ask Jason why he hadn't done something as romantic as that.
Luke looked at her and said, "Sorry Caroline but only a Spencer could think of something like this."
"Hey I ain't a Spencer and I helped." Said Sly with a grin.
"Yeah but you got our blood running through your veins boy."
Lucky and Liz were listening but barely. They were to wrapped up in each other to care what they were saying.
