A Second Once In A Lifetime - Chapter 8

Lucky was in his room when someone knocked on his door. How he hoped it was liz. He opened the door to find Meg in tears.

Lucky: Meg whats wrong?

Meg: why Lucky why did you lie to me?

Lucky: aboiut what? Meg what happened?

Meg: I just came from Kellys and guess who i ran into?

Lucky: who?

Meg: Liz and you know what..... she was painting...

Lucky: (looking away form Meg) Oh god

Meg: I want you to tell me everything about Liz, Lucky

Lucky: Meg

Meg: Just tell me!

Lucky: OK

Lucky went to sit on his bed as Meg sttod by his table.

Lucky: Elizabeth and i met when we were 15 and i hated her at first, but someting happened to her that i cant tell you because it is not my place. Anyway after that we grew closer. I helped her through her hard time and she helpd me through on of the harderst times of my life. Time went on and we became best friends. I had left home and she let me sleep on her bedroom floor. We even ran away together one time. Time went on and before i knew it we were in love. (Lucky could see the hurt in Meg's eys but he continued) I loved her with all my heart, we were supposed to be together forever. Forever that was us. But then her parents came back to get her and she had to leave. I did not want to lose her but i did not have a choice. So our last night together we made love for the first time. We gave each other our virginities and the next morning she was gone before i woke up and i never heard from her since. That was six years ago. And now she came back for her grandmother's funeral. Meg i am so sorry i did not tell you about Elizabeth. It was just to painful because i had lost her.

Meg: Do you still love her Lucky?

Lucky: Meg.....

Meg: answer me , do you.......still love her....are you still in love with her?

Lucky: (softly) yes i am

Meg: (crying) you lied to me all this time. You told me you had a painter paint your walls..... I told Liz that when i frst met you that i knew there was something missing inside of you.....i realized what that was today. Your heart lucky and she has had it all this time. No wonder you didnt want to sleep with me.

Lucky: I am so sorry, I nver meant to hurt you Meg. Please understand

Meg: yeah well....I guess this is good-bye

Lucky: Meg

Meg: I cant be with you knowing you will never love me. You and Liz are not over and i dont fit in this picture anyomre not that i ever did.

Lucky: i'm sorry

Meg: good-bye Lucky

Lucky: Bye

Meg left Lucky's room. Lucky knew what Meg said was right. he and Liz were far from over.
