Jonathan Jackson
Daytime's Brightest Star!

It's been over 2 years since Jonathan Jackson first joined the cast of General Hospital, one of daytime TV's longest running soap operas. In that time, Jonathan has scored big with GH fans who have come to regard the 14-year-old actor who plays 'Lucky Spencer' as one of the most appealing characters on the show!
What is it about Jonathan that makes us love him? Well, besides being absolutly adorable and a top-notch actor, he's just so talented!
Playing Lucky is a challenge because he's sort of like a min-action hero, always setting off on a new adventure or dealing with a difficult emotional situation. Lucky's survived being on the run with his parents, trying to handle thier seperation, getting into a life threatening accident, running away across the country to help a friend find her long-lost relative, and alway being on the verge of danger.
Whew! Jonathan's portrayal of Lucky even earned him an emmy for "Outstanding Younger Actor"!
He's got something special thats bound to make him a big star someday!

Jonathan Jackson Re-Signs With General Hospital

Just when everyone thought General Hospital was running out of Luck(y), a spokesperson for the show confirms that Emmy-winner Jonathan Jackson (Lucky) has re-signed. Jackson will remain on GH for another 2 years.
I think it was the best decision," reflects Jackson, who was awaiting his lawyer's approval at press time before he signed on the dotted line. "When the process becomes grueling, sometimes you do want to leave. But, you have good days and bad days. It goes back and forth."
Did Anthony Geary (Luke) influence hin on-screen son's choice? "He never tells me what to do in circumstances like this. He told me that he wanted me to stay, but if it was better for me to leave, then he would still be happy for me," Jackson confides. "[Geary] didn't consciously know it, but he did have a lot to do with me staying, because I want to keep working with him. He's a really awesome friend and a great guy to work with. everything that I've learned, I've learned from him."
"I'm relieved beyond measure," enthuses Geary of Jackson's decision to stay. "I was panic-stricken at the thought of him leaving." In fact, Geary suggested that GH brass kill off ther character of Lucky rather then recast the role. "I strongly feel - wihtout reservation- that they could never find anybody to hold a candle to Jonathan's work," states Geary. "He's one of the best actors I've ever worked with - not child actor, but actor. He's been a major part of not only Luke and Laura's life, but mine and Genie's [Francis] as well."

General Hospital's Jonathan Jackson is also a hardworking Taurus who loves to overload his work schedule. He's a musician. Together they call themsleves Scarlett Road and they've been together for alose to a year. Jonathan bides him time between Burbank (when he is working on General Hospital) and him hometown Battle Ground, Washington. Like many Tuareans, he is a guy with simple tastes: his favourite book is Huck Finn, his favourite musician is Beethoven and his favourite food is a grilled cheese sandwich! But like people born under his sign, he like moving at the speed of sound and admits that his favourite car is a Porsche!
Jonathan us probably the quintessential all-American boy. He loves his family and friends dearly, and often puts thier needs before his own. Like a true Taurus, he is always making plans, and hopes to move into prime-time TV and movies sometime withing the next two or three years. There is nothing phony or "Hollywood" about him though
The stars show that Jonathan will get a lot of acclaim for his musical efforts and possibly even do a guest stint with a top band in the comming year. His voice is very upbeat and he can rock hard. He's got a true Taurean's vocal cords- thay are as "strong as a bull."

Jonathan Jackson:
The 30-Second Interview(s)

BOP: How would you achieve world peace?
JJ: Well, I would try to get everyone all together in one big room and talk to them. And maybe, if we all came together and everyone knew what I was trying to do, I think that people might be able to come around and, you know, be cool.

BOP: What would you say is the silliest thing about the show business?
JJ: Okay. Oh boy. Oh no. Probably all the dressing up people have to do. People [meaning actors and other show biz folks] who are working, they don't dress up when they go anywhere. But when you see them at the Hollywood parties, they are all in tuxedos and stuff. These people don't dress like that usually and then it is all glamour, you know, and that's pretty silly. People [as fans] like to see that so I guess that is why they do it. But it is kind of silly.

BOP: What would you do if you had 10 million dollars for one day?
JJ: I would buy a bunch of film and film camera and a crew and a studio and I would try to make a move. Hopefully I would be able to spend it all [within the day] and be able to kee it [the equipment and stuff] maybe for a couple weeks

BOP:What is one things fans don't knoe about you?
JJ: Oh, I have no idea. [insert 15 seconds of silence here.] I am stumped.

BOP: Okay, thirty seconds to tell us everything about your cat.
JJ: Okay, my cat's name is Studmuffin and he is white abd has no tail because he was born that way. He is really cool. He is a pyromaniac. He stars at the fire for hours. One time he actually jumped in into it and singed his whiskers. He is cool, but he is really mean. He will bite if you're not careful. But then other times he can be really nice and just rests with you. He is a cool cat.

BOP: Why did you name your cat Studmuffin? JJ: I don't know. Well, he was a baby when we got him but - I don't know. I think it was because on my brothers jacket, it said 'Universal Studios.' And then one time my mother [Jeanine] looked at it abd the jacket's 'io' was cut off and is just said 'Universal Stud.' So, we named him Universal Stud and then we just called him Studmuffin because that is shorter, I guess.
