Candace is best known for
her role as Donna Jo Tanner on the ABC series Full House. She was
cast as D.J. in July 1986, and her
character is now more popular
than ever. But Full House was not her first acting job. Several years
before, Candace was in a
television commercial for
Mutual of Omaha Insurance. The commercial never aired, but that didn't
stop her. She went on to do
commercials for Kenner,
KFC, Aunt Jemima Pancakes, Mattel and McDonald's.
Her first TV appearance was
as a guest on St. Elsewhere in 1982. She also made guest appearances
on the television shows
Growing Pains, Who's the
Boss?, Marie Osmond's Christmas Special, and Punky Brewster. She
has appeared in three feature
films, playing Cindy Nelson
in "Some Kind of Wonderful" (1987), Carrie in "Punchline" (1988), co-starring
with Tom Hanks and Sally
Field, and also starred
with friend Shawnee Smith in "I Saw What You Did." She has also acted

Choice Awards (1994), while
co-hosting the awards.
She also recently hosted the inaugural Hollywood Reporter's YoungStar Awards,
as well as A&E's Evening
at the Improv, where she
showed a part of herself not often seen, her sense of humor.
In her spare time, Candace
enjoys movies, desk-top publishing, music (she plays the guitar and paino)
and shopping. She also
enjoys skiing (both snow
and water), horseback riding (much like her character on Full House), and
roller blading. If she is on
vacation, she would like
to be found in Maui, Hawaii. Her favorite movie is "Dances with Wolves",
and her favorite actor is Kevin
Costner. Her favorite
music artists are James Taylor, Jewel, Amy Grant, and Paul Simon.
Her favorite genre is mellow alternative
and her least-favorite is
heavy-metal/thrash/etc.
Candace and her family are
very close. Her mother Barbara runs a talent agency, and her father
Robert is a physical education
instructor. Robert
also played minor-league baseball for a short time in the early to mid
1960's. Robert also appeared on Growing
Pains in 1991. Candace's
brother Kirk is probably the best known Cameron, playing Mike Seaver on
Growing Pains for eight years,
as well as starring in many
movies. Kirk currently is looking for work and in the meantime runs
an audio-video store in Syracuse,
NY. He lives with
his wife Chelsea Noble, an actress/model. Kirk also appeared as a guest
star on Full House during the show's
first season (1987-88) as
did his future wife, Chelsea. Candace's sister Bridgette appeared
on Full House as the reporter in the
episode entitled, "Air Jesse"
(orig. aired Feb 7/95). She is also currently singing backup with a local
LA band. Her other sister,
Melissa, is most likely
now in medical school.
Candace became Mrs. Valeri
Bure in June 1996. After honeymooning in Maui, Hawaii she set up
house (and an Olympic size Ice
rink for her husband) in
Tarzana, CA and also has a house in Montreal so she can be with her new
husband while he is playing
hockey. Valeri plays
in the National Hockey League for the Calgary Flames. He scored his
first National Hockey League goal
against Pittsburgh, in an
8-5 win at the Montreal Forum. He also scored the game winning goal
against Florida on April 6, '96,
Candace's 20th Birthday.
Valeri is the younger brother of Pavel (Pasha) Bure, the "Russian
Rocket", a member of the Vancouver
Canucks.
