Episode 1 

Hoi Tai Fu, a high-ranked eunuch in the forbidden city had used most of his life to to find the truth behind the several murdercases involving the royal family in the palace. Just when he decided to give up he finds a new clue. His search lead him to Yeung Chow-city... 

Yeung Chow Sing is the city where Wai Siu Bo (Jordan Chan) grew up. WSB is the son of a prostitute in a brothel. Being raised in a brothel without ever knowing who his real father is, SB has become the definition of the saying "Carpe Diem". He only thinks of having fun and his intelligence helps him a lot too. 
SB and his (much older) friend Chan Kong are often find themself in trouble, luckily there's the goddaughter of Chan Kong, Sheung Yee, to get them out again. Sheung Yee (Cherrie Chan Siu Ha) has been raised by CK since he found her when she is only seven. (Sheung Yee and SB grew up together so their friendship is really deep.) 

When HTF arrived at Yeung Chow-city, CK's behaviour becomes really strange. He even decided to leave the city and his daugther behind all of a sudden, but he asked WSB to get a package first. 
The day after CK left, WSB bumps into HTF again. HTF recognized the package SB was holding and realized that that kid has something to do with the person he's looking for (Chan Kong) and tricked SB into leading him to CK. 
Luckily SB found out in time that HTF meanings aren't that good and fled. 

Episode 2 

HTF found the brothel where SB lives and forced SB to lead him to CK. CK finally shows up to prevent HTF from killing Sheung yee and SB. 
We get to know that CK and HTF are old friends. CK is actually one of those "dead eunuch". He was "killed" because he found out that some members of the royal court were actually murdered instead of died at a natural cause. CK survived and fled to his hometown Yeung Chow. 
Refusing to go back to the palace to testify, CK starts to fight with HTF. 
After a dramatic fight CK commited suicide.... 

HTF feeling sad to be responsible for his friend's dead left SB and Sheung Yee alone and went back to the forbidden city to continue his search for the truth. 

After CK's dead Sheung Yee is forced to "work for the brothel" to pay back her godfather's debts. SB and SY tried to find a way out and met the family Chong. The family Chong is a very wealthy and honest family. Because they find SY to be a very good person, they decided to help her and lend her some money to repay her debts. SY is only willing to accept their help if they hire her as a maid. 
After working happily for the Chong family for awhile, Sheung Yee is more cheerfull and even helped a beggar Ng Luk Key by giving him a meal. (don't underestimate this detail, it'll be very important later in the story) 

Episode 3 

The Chong family is soon after that being framed. Someone is accusing the Chong family to be rebels (going against the government) and the whole Chong family is arrested. Sheung Yee had a chance to get away, but being royal as she is, she decided to go to jail with the Chong family (altough knowing that they will all be executed). 
SB risks his life and tricks his way in the jails and tried to free Sheung Yee. But instead of freeing Sheung Yee, he accidently freed Moa 18 and SB to flee with him before he got the chance to help Sheung yee. Moa 18 however promised SB to help him free SY later. 

Being suspected of being the helper of Moa 18 and also because SY and the Chong family was brought to the capital city to be executed, SB is forced to leave Yeung Chow-city. 

(in the capital city) Hong Hei (Stephen Ma Chun Wai) is a very competent emperor. He cares a lot about the people in the country. But there's one person that is threatening him. The general Ngo Bai. NB has so much power that even the emporer HH has to give face to him. NB misuse his power to get rid off all those people that is going against his will. 
 

Episode 4 

SB and Moa 18 has reached the outer limits of the capital city and met two girls dressed like men. SB, nosy as he is, got those two girls in trouble again leaving a bad impression. These two girls are (the 16-years old) Mook Kim Ping (Joanne from "A Kindred Spirit) and (the 17-years old) Fong Yee (Tsui Ho Ying). 
Both are members of Mook "royal" family (Kim Ping is the daughter of general Mook). Although still angry at SB for causing all the trouble, the girls decided to let him live and went away. 

SB and 18 continue their trip and finally arrived at the capital city, just to find out that SY is going to be executed real soon. With too less time to think up a decent plan, they decided to have to fight as a rescue attempt. Luckily they got unexpected help from the Heaven& Earth Sectt (Teen Tei Wui) and the beggar Ng Luk Kei (see!! i told you to remember him!!). 
But they found out too late that the execution was actually a trap meant to catch the HES. SY and the Chong family weren't at the execution site at all. 
SB and Moa 18 got away in time, so are HEC and NLK but the HES has lost a lot of members (We later find out that NLK is actually a member of the beggar's cult (Koi Bong) and is a great martial artist) 

Somehow SB heard that SY and the Chong family has been executed in secrecy. Feeling very sad already, the one who "killed" (or so SB thought) his good friend, SY's godfather Chan Kong and thus also caused SY to die suddenly showed up, Hoi Tai Fu. 
SB asked 18 to kill HTF to avenge SY and her godfather, but of course 18 lost and they're both captured and brought to the forbidden palace. 
HTF wanted to know how much SB knows of the secret of CK. 

Episode 5 

Believing that SB actually knew nothing HTF let them go, but under the condition that SB and 18 had to cut their hands, tongue and blind themself (So that they can't tell other's what happened)  
Of course SB adn 18 refuses and tried to escape, and the fact that HTF suddenly felt ill helped a bit. SB got a chance to poison HTF (causing him to be blind) and killed the "serving-eunuch" of HTF, Siu Kwai Tze. HTF being confused by the poison and because of his blindness thought that SB was actually SKT and SB was forced to stay in the palace while the wounded 18 escaped. 

HTF told SB to do some strange things. Like go gambling with other eunuchs, AND lose. 
SB did as he was told, but after the game he tried to escape and got lost in the huge palace. He finds himself in some kind of training room with a lot of food. SB, careless as he is ate some of it, but then another guy came in. 
SB and that young man started to fight. For those of you who don't know it yet, that other man is actually the emporer HH and SB accidently got in his private training room and ate the emperor's food. SB actually thought that HH was a eunuch too. The emporer, glad that he found someone that dared to have a good fight with him, kept his identity a secret and made a bet with SB to fight again the next day. 

SB find out that 18 still didn't haven't recovered and is still in the palace. 

Episode 6 

HH told his litle sister, princess Kin Ling about SB. Kin Ling is a very playfull (but sadistic) girl (and who can be better casted than "Ah Chi from Demi-gods", Rain Lau Yuk Chui?) Kin Ling always in for some fun dressed up as a eunuch too and had a fight with SB. Later KL and HH made up a story that they're sister and brothers and are both servant in the palace since childhood. SB believed them. 

SB is later tricked by KL and got captured by her. KL wanted to experiment some SM-stuff on SB, but luckily (for SB) Moa 18 suddenly showed up saved SB. SB realized that he should leave the palace ASAP and they both decided to try to escape at once. However, only 18 got away, SB had to stay there. 

Back to HTF, HTF gave SB a new order. This time he had to use his "friendship" with his gamblingfriends to get to te royal library to find some books called "The 42 scriptures". 
SB succeeded to get in there, but the emporer and Ngo Bai suddenly came in the library to hold a meeting too.... 

Episode 7 

WSB found out the real identity of that young "eunuch" and has the scare of his life. That's because when he finally realize the identity of HH, he also had an arguement with NB to help HH. Of course this made him be the pain in the @$$ of NB, but with his smoothtalk he made NB forgive him and hire him as a "spy". 
HH is very impressed, because WSB is the first one who "had a talk" with NB and came out of it alive. 

NB executed one of HH's best and most loyal generals. HH, being furious went to NB house with WSB and other generals, only to find NB in bed wearing the "dragon suit" (the costum only the emporer is allowed to wear) and holding a knife.... HH and his soldiers lives are in danger, because NB has no choice but to kill them all (wearing the "dragon suit" means that he is a rebel and should be executed) 
Luckily WSB came up with a good idea and saved the day. 

Episode 8 

HH should still be furious about NB, but strangely he acts like nothing ever happened and even spend his time on wrestling with SB. HH even made a team of eunuchs to have a wrestling tournament.... 
No one understand what HH is thinking, especially SB is clueless. But one day he finally finds out, because HH asked him to help him kill NB!!! SB is terrified by this, but he has no choice but to agree with HH.  

HH summoned NB to watch his team of eunuch having a tournament. But it's all part of HH's plan. All of a sudden every eunuch attacked NB! After a long fight (and a bit of ash thrown at NB by SB) NB was defeated and SB was rewarded by the queen herself. 
HH send SB to NB house and take in all of NB's fortune. SB did that, but also collected some money for the "WSB fund". He also found two treasures wich would come in very handy later on, a small knife that can cut through anything and a vest that can withstand anything (I wonder what would happen if you try to cut that vest with that knife.....) 

Episode 9 

NB's defeated, but SB's next problem is coming around the corner. HTF admits that he knew that SB has only be acting like HTF's eunuch all along and that he had poisoned SB each time SB had diner. 
HTF said that he wouldn't have told SB that before the poison started to work, but because HTF's life is coming to an end because of his illness, he wanted to "see" SB shiver before he dies. 
SB had no choice but to try to kill HTF. OF course, although blinded, HTF is too strong for SB and SB got hit by him. SB should be dead, but fortunately the vest he was wearing saved him. SB tried to escape, but got lost and came to the queen's palace. He finds HTF there with the queen and heard that HTF found out that all the previous murders were commited by the queen. HTF and the queen had a very long fight and the queen was starting to lose. If it wasn't for SB who stabbed HTF in the back... (but it looked like HTF WANTED SB to help the queen to defeat him!! Anyone can clear me out on this one? Maybe because HTF already knew that his life would end and wanted SB to let the world knows about the queen's secrets?) 

The queen wanted to kill SB after that, but lukily HH came just in time and saved SB (without realizing it). SB went up to a higher rank after that. 

Episode 10 

Even though Ngo Bai has been captured, he still feels no regret and keep saying bad things about the emperor. The emperor doesn’t like that and send SB to “enlighten” NB. But what a coincidence, just when SB poisoned NB, the Heaven & Earth Sect went to the dungeon to assassinate NB. 
SB accidentally killed NB in order to save himself, but the H&ES captured SB and used him as a hostage to escape. 
The HES wanted to execute SB because they find that he’s a betrayer of the country. Of course SB managed to talk him out of the problem and even become the student of Chan Gan Nam (the leader of the HES) and one of the “department leaders” of the HES.
