Quinn Mallory
Quinn is the inventor of Sliding. He was skipped two grades, and at age 12, his father died of a car accident, causing as any child who had lost his father, trauma, which which wasn't helped by the kids bullying him for being smarter. As a result, Quinn spent most of his time in his basment, tinkering away. Around the same time, his dog ran away, causing more misery. Quinn was no doubt a genius. But it was not until he was in graduate school, taking a physics class with Professor Maximillion Arturo, whilst working at a computer store with "bud" Wade Wells, that he discovered the secret to sliding. Once discovering it, he tested it out, and eventually decided to pass though the vortex himself. Once back, he found that an alternate Quinn from another dimension had visited, and had finished the quation to sliding which the first Quinn couldn't solve. As the alternate Quinn was leaving to HIS dimension, he warned Quinn about something, which was drowned out by the vortex. Later that day, Wade and Arturo came over, for Quinn to apologise for something that he didn't do, but his alternative self had done. Once the 2 saw the Sliding vortex, Wade suggested that the 3 go sliding. Quinn aggreed, set the timer, and made the vortex appear. Wade suggested that the vortex might not be powerful enough for the 3, so Quinn increased the power. After the 3 slid, the Vortex wandered out of Quinn's basement, and onto a street, where Rembrandt Brown was driving. He too got caught in the slide. When the four reached the next world, so to speak, they found themsleves, in an nuclear winter, and because of an Icy tornado heading thier way, Quinn was forced to open the vortex early, making their sliding patterns totally random. Recently, Quinn has found out that he was not born on his Earth Prime, but another one, where the humans had been fighting the Kromaggs in civil war, at the time of his birth. He also learned that he had a brother, who was sent to a different world then Quinn. He found this brother, who had been raised with out modern technologies, in a society of menanite behaviours.

Wade Wells
Wade Wells worked with Quinn at the computer store, where she and Quinn became friends, Although Wade thought of him in as more than a friend. When the alternate Quinn visited her dimension (un known to her that it was an alternate Quinn) she and the alternate Quinn shared a kiss. The alternate Quinn then told off the Quinn of the dimension he was in, and got Quinn fired.(sorry if that was confusing) Once she had learned of what Quinn said to Prof. Arturo, she arranged an apologie between the two. Once she, and Arturo got to Quinn's house, he showed the two the Sliding Vortrx, and she volunteered them both to go Sliding! Wade slid for some time, before she was captured by the Kromaggs and brought to a breeding world.

Prof. Arturo
When Arturo was just a boy, WWII was still in action. His father was in india, and his mother brought him to what she thought would be a safe haven. However, the haven was bombed, and Arturo woke up with his dead mother over his body, and fire men dragging her off. His mother had thrown herself over him to protect him. He was put in a orphanage, until his father could return and get him. Ever since the incident, Arturo's fear hs been abandonment. Professor Maximillion Arturo is, as he likes to brag, educated in Cosmology, and ontology. Before he taught Quinn advanced Quinn at graduate school, his wife had died, leaving bad memories, and leaving him crabby (that's my guess, it might be wrong). When he first met Quinn, and learned of his briliance, which exceeded his own, he resented Quinn. But with each slide he took with Quinn, he grew closer to Quinn, and the rest of the Sliders. In Season three, however, Arturo died of a desase, and was replaced, so to speak by Ct. Maggie Becket.

Rembrandt "Cryin' Man" Brown
Rembrandt, unlike the others, didn't want to Slide in the origonal episode. Due to the timer being set to high, The vortex wandered from the site from which it was opened, and onto the road were Remmy was driving, on his way to the Stadium, so sign the National Anthem, he didn't see the vortex whilst driving, and didn't notice it until it was too late. At first, he resented Quinn for getting him stranded from his home, but has partly forgiven, and is now probably Quinn's best friends. He worries that the four will never reach Earth Prime, or in the recent episodes, if he can help Quinn's and Colin's reach thier home world. Another worry of his is that he can't support his weight. Which, ofcourse, is not true, seeing as he has saved the other Slider's numerous times. Remmy is tortured very much be the fact that some times in alternate worlds, he meets women he loved, only to find that they don't love them, or worse, that they don't even know him.

Captain Maggie Becket
Captain Maggie Becket is not from the same dimension as the others. On her world, she fought in the war against the Kromaggs. She was married on her world, her husband was a genius, and invented sliding on her world. She first appeared on the episode "exodus". More info on her soon

Colin Mallory
Colin Mallory is the newest of the sliders. Like his brother, Quinn he was born on one Earth, then was taken to another. On his world, society was shaped into a menanite wa of living, where there only horse and buggy, and hardly any technology. Also like his brother Quinn he was greatly involved with science, and when the Sliders first met him, he was testing out his flying machine. Once he had learned what he needed to, he slid to another world. Only to see an alternate version of a woman he loved on the last world. He persued her, and she tricked him into to trying to rob an old dead man of his "bone graph credit". Which was an alternate form of currency on that particular world.

Henry
Not much is known about Henry the Sliding dog, some believe he is the god of the multiverse, others think that he is a confused dog, who in the heat of passion, decided to go Sliding after Wade. One thing I know for sure, is that to my knowledge, he is the only animal to have ever gone Sliding, except maybe SpiderWasps.

The kromaggs
From what we know of the kromaggs, they are essentially the same species as us, only they never evolved into Homo Sapiens. Instead, once they evolved into kromaggs, they stopped physical evolution, and thier brain started evolving (my theory). This would prove why the Kromaggs acquire telepathic abilities, and have advanced scientific knowledge. In season two, the history of the Kromaggs stated that upon their first slide, when they encountered homo sapiens ruling the dimension, they combined under one confederation, and planned to conquer each unsuspecting world. In season four, however, they say that kromaggs once inhabited the same world as Quinn and Colin's birth world, along with the homo sapiens. That is, until civil war between the two races broke out, and eventually, the homo spaiens won, by creating a weapon that would transport all kromaggs to another dimension. I don't know, maybe the kromaggs from that world were transported to a world where ONLY kromaggs ruled. Your guess is as good as mine. Anyway, Kromaggs are very aggresive, and they focus all or most of their power into sliding into otehr worlds and conquering them. They enjoy the most though, eating homo sapien eyes. It is considered a delictasy to them, and I'm sure we all know what happened to Bennish on Outpost 113. The Kromaggs are the surge of the multiverse.

Logan St. Clare
Logan St. Clare, surprisingly enough, is Quinn's double! On her world Quinn was born a female. Like Quinn, she is also a Slider. But UNlike Quinn, she did not invent it. On her world, it was Arturo who had invented sliding. However, he had not perfected, so on re-entry from the vortex, the object passing through would burn to a crisp. How was Logan involved with this??? Logan and Arturo, on her world, were having an affair. Logan wanted Sliding to herslef, however, so she murdered Arturo through their vortex, killing him. She also tried to do the same to our Arturo, but thanks to Quinn the vortex's were fixed, and our Arturo lived. At the end of the episode where Logan St. Clare is intorduced, our Sliders slide to another world, where she follows him. Quinn is then forced to set the timer back to her Earth, but he double crosses her, and makes Logan a Random Slider, just like Quinn and the other Sliders.
