Young Hercules Book Information

Archway Books -- a division of Pocket Books, which is part of Simon & Schuster -- will be publishing Young Hercules novels starting this summer.

YOUNG HERCULES by Mel Odom (July 1999)
This is a novelization of the pilot film that aired on the Fox Family Channel and is now available on home video. Hercules arrives at the Academy, encounters his childhood friend/nemesis Iolaus, meets Cheiron and Jason for the first time, and contends with Ares and Discord in an attempt to win the Golden Fleece to save Jason's father the King of Corinth.
YOUNG HERCULES: CHEIRON'S WARRIORS by Keith R.A. DeCandido (September 1999)
In an attempt to start a war between Corinth and the Centaur Nation, Ares has twelve centaurs kidnapped to be sold into slavery -- including Cheiron. While Jason tries to negotiate with a cranky centaur emissary, Hercules, Iolaus, and Lilith must find where the slavers are hiding out and rescue their teacher. But Ares has sent Strife and Discord to keep them busy...
YOUNG HERCULES: THE ARES ALLIANCE by Keith R.A. DeCandido (December 1999)
Ogun, the Yoruban god of iron, fire, and war, has kidnapped Cyane's tribe of Amazons as a challenge for the West African people who worship him. Hercules and Ares must (very reluctantly) work together to find Cyane in a foreign land before the Amazons are drawn into war...
YOUNG HERCULES: MISSION FROM ZEUS by Daniel J. Fingeroth (February 2000)
Hercules must capture the horns of the Minotaur -- if he can survive the quest! Training against a battle robot with Iolaus, Jason, and Lilith, Hercules saves the day when the robot goes berserk and begins trashing the Academy. Then Zeus appears and orders Hercules on a mission to bring back the horns of the Minotaur -- the fate of the Olympian gods depends on his success. Eager for his father's love and approval, Hercules embarks on a perilous journey armed with weapons specially crafted by Hephaestus. Meanwhile, Jason's Nemean neighbors are threatening war, and assassins lurk at every turn. Knowing that only Hercules can prevent bloodshed and save their friend, Iolaus and Lilith set out to find Hercules and bring him back. But Hercules is torn. If he abandons his father's quest, the gods will die, but if he doesn't return to Corinth, Jason and his kingdom will be destroyed!
