THE INITIATIVE

Unbeknownst to Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and the gang, Spike (James Marsters) is captured by a commando squad for The Initiative, a mysterious underground laboratory beneath the streets of U.C. Sunnydale. Meawhile, Buffy's Psych T.A. Riley (guest star Marc Blucas), has a major slayer crush and turns to Willow (Alyson Hannigan) for advice on ways to woo.

PANGS

A DRAMATIC "BUFFY"/"ANGEL" TWO-HOUR EVENT - Unbeknownst to Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Angel (special guest star David Boreanaz, "Angel") lurks in the shadows of Sunnydale trying to protect her and keep her safe, while her perfect Thanksgiving feast is disrupted by an army of Chumash Indians, the original inhabitants of Sunnydale, whose spirits have come alive to recreate the wrongs that were done to their people. Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, James Marsters and Anthony Stewart Head also star.

The Angel Series

Former soap star Elisabeth Rohm will join the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off, Angel, as Kate, a potential love interest for the remorseful L.A. vampire Angel (David Boreanaz). Series creator and executive producer Joss Whedon describes the new character as "a very strong woman who's going to get seriously into Angel's life." Rohm is best known for her role as the beleaguered Dorothy Hayes on One Life to Live from August 1997 to January 1998. The 26-year-old actress, who was born in Dusseldorf, Germany, grew up in Manhattan and Bedford, NY, and received a B.A. in drama and history from Sarah Lawrence College. She appeared in the 1999 miniseries The '60s and in an April episode of Turks. Rohm joins former Buffy ensemble stars Boreanaz and Charisma Carpenter, as well as Roseanne's Glenn Quinn. The new series began shooting Thursday.

Rumors are swirling about the WB and it's influence on Angel. I personally believe that the character of "Kate" was added because of the WB. The WB did shut down production of Angel a month or so ago because the scripts were too dark for network television. Some say that the WB asked Whedon to up the humor in Angel, which could be true because Whedon is now saying that the humor is similar to Buffy but at one time he said it wasn't.

On the third episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and of Angel this season Spike will do a cross over on both shows. At 8:00 he will be one Buffy and then at 9:00 he will be Angel.
