"Many people have senseless attachments to heavy clumsy things such as this Homer of yours."
Jacques Brunswick, "Life on the Fast Lane"

"You'd love it. It's not quite breakfast, it's not quite lunch, but it comes with a slice of cantaloupe at the end. You don't get completely what you would at breakfast, but you get a good meal!"
Jacques describes brunch, "Life on the Fast Lane"

"You told me when something's bothering you, and you're too damn stupid to know what to do, just keep your fool mouth shut. At least that way you won't make things worse."
Bart repeating Homer's advice, "Life on the Fast Lane"

My Review: To the casual observer, "Life on the Fast Lane" doesn't look like it would succeed as an episode, considering that the "marriage on the rocks" plot is almost the same as the inferior "Homer's Night Out." But succeed it does. Homer's thoughtless gift is the perfect setup for this intelligent, sensitive, and humorous look at the near-collapse of Homer and Marge's marriage. (4/5)
