(Sami Acquires "Duh Boy")

PRIMARY PARTIES:

Initiated by Samantha Brady (because she wanted Austin "Duh-Boy" Reed for her own) who drugged and slept with "Duh-Boy." Sami then showed up at Carrie and Austin's wedding and collapsed. When she came to she claimed she was several months pregnant with Austin's baby. The birth of Will completed Sami's hold over Austin, much to Carrie's dismay. When Will was kidnapped by his nanny and taken to Paris to be sold on the black market, Sami and Austin went after him. The reluctance of the French authorities to relinquish Will to a family which did not fit their description of "stable" gave her the needed leverage to marry him. She usurped her sister's man and her sister's dress. Wedded bliss was anything but as Sami tried to seduce Austin on their wedding night and he turned her down flat. He must not have cared about her very much, or he'd taken one too many blows to the head because he ran over her not once, not twice, but three times in succession a few weeks after they were married. As a result she lost the use of her legs and developed limited retrograde amnesia, which made her forget the past four years of her life. Austin felt bad about all of this and decided to stay married to her until she regained her memory, while Carrie was forced to pretend that she was friends with Sami in hopes that Sami's memory would come back. These actions resulted in The Brady-Reed/Brady Proxy Battle, which was carried on for months during Sami's infirmities.

And the bearings of this manueuver on the formation of B&H, Inc.?

This was the wedge that drove Austin and Carrie apart for a long time. Carrie had been known that Austin had been unfaithful, but she never knew who he'd cheated on her with. Austin never really recovered from the slap that she delivered to his face, and I think it is affecting his thought processes to this day. He still does not see Sami for the scheming wench that she is and always comes a-runnin' when Sami calls on behalf of Will. Sami's amnesia and paralysis persuaded Austin to stay by her, and the strain on Carrie and Austin's relationship drove her to rely on Mike for advice, consolation and emotional support.
