Who is Eric Brady?
Eric Brady returned to Salem in 1997 while Sami supposedly still had amnesia and was confined to a wheelchair. He assisted in uncovering her plot to keep Will's parentage a secret, and despite his hand in this, Sami and he became close again. He works as a photographer for Bella Magazine and is currently involved with Nicole Walker who, of course, has the prerequisite dirty little secret one must have in order to enter Salem.

What's his main area of conflict?
Eric's biggest conflict is the situation between his parents. He wants Roman and Marlena to get married, and expects John Black to butt out so that they can give it another try. The presence of his half-sister Belle as tangible evidence of Marlena's passion for John most likely causes him anguish. He's also upset by Sami's scheming, and has been heard to wish for the "sweet" Sami to return. He hasn't said anything about Sami's relationship with Franco, and I would assume that as long as Sami does not interfere with his relationship with Nicole, everything's peachy.

What would I do with Eric Brady if I were a DOOL writer?
Have him either accept the fact that Marlena loves John now, or have him hate John forever and try to oppose him in all things.
Have Eric and Lucas fight over Jamie Caldwell, forcing Nicole into Austin's arms. Then have Nicole pregnant with Austin's baby, but have Eric and Nicole reunite and raise the baby together.
Make him interested in Billie Reed. I can see the Oedipal possibilities even now. . .

How would Eric feel about Carrie and Mike becoming Brady and Horton, Inc.?
I think he would be happy for his sister. Mike Horton's a decent guy in his eyes, but there might be some conflict if Eric sees that in a way, Carrie's relationship with Austin and Mike mirrors Marlena's relationship with Roman and John.

My opinion of the character of Eric Brady?
Jensen Ackles, heralded as the casting coup of 1997, has fizzled, in my humble opinion. The woman chosen to be his love interest is a horrible actress and my only hope for Eric would be a relationship with Taylor Walker or possibly with Jamie Caldwell (rumors of her returning abound). Jensen is a fine enough actor, but he doesn't seem to have chemistry with anyone. I like his scenes with Alison Sweeney, though.
