Hitomi saying that the fort will be attacked (she restates this after the title card, which was also originally here, so they simply played her restatement rather than having her give information twice).

While Merle is recounting what happened in Fanelia, shots of Escaflowne getting transproted in the beam of light and Merle calling after it are added (in case we forgot who Merle was).

Commercial break. Added right after Hitomi passes out and Allen tells Van to take Merle inside. The most logical place for an added break so far in the series.

While Dornkirk is telling Folken to capture the dragon to secure their ideal future, yadda yadda (really, this is practically the extent of the guy's dialogue in the series. Every episode, same old spiel. But I digress), it should have shown Dornkirk in his, uh, big metal stand thingy, but instead we're shown Escaflowne turning into a dragon again (really, they can stop spoiling us. We're not supposed to know this yet).

There should have been a shot of Dilandau and Folken when Dilly tells him that he'll bring back a souvenier. Instead, that shot is cut, and the line is changed to a voice-over while Hitomi is lying in bed.

Hitomi blushes at Allen and recalls that she had just confessed her feelings to Amano a while before, and now she's falling for another guy. Once again, they cut any reference to Amano.

Even though they left most of the dialogue, glances between Hitomi and Merle were cut, including Merle noticing that Hitomi was in the bed, but she got stuck with the bench. Hitomi does the infamous anime sweatdrop when Merle gets mad.

When Hitomi has her Vision of Impending Doom(tm), flashes of the battle to come are added. Before, it was just the screen going inverted and Hitomi getting that "weird feeling".

Allen says "Damn you, Zaibach!"

After Allen picks up Van, a random shot of the fort burning is added. Right after this, a commercial break is added as well.

Okay, here's where the random burning came from. This is right before Dilandau utters his infamous line "Burn, BURN!" Japanese clip of aforementioned line (with the laugh! Yay!)

After one of the Dragonslayers informs Dilandau that they can't cloak while flying (and Dilly slaps him. Mecha slap! At least they didn't cut that), Dilandau retorts that they should just destroy everything they see, then, so that there's no evidence.

When Allen sees the flying Zaibach guymelefs coming towards them, the Stomp-esqu track "Machine Soldier" should have been playing. Waah, I like that track, and it really does something cool with the scene.

I have no idea what this was. When Dilandau charges Crusade, he originally yelled "I've got you!" But now, he yells, "Watch out!" In Hitomi's voice, no less ^_^*

I've come to notice that Fox seems to take a fancy to playing "Dance of Curse" whenever Van gets into Escaflowne. However, their timing on this one was almost correct. Right scene to play the track, they just started it early. It should have started when Van jumps off Crusade, not when he gets in Escaflowne. So, they had the right cue with the right scene, they were just playing the wrong part of it.

This edit is somewhat proof that Fox is at least conscious of the edits they're making. After Escaflowne turns into a dragon, Dilandau is momentarily surprised, and originally said "That must be the 'dragon' Emperor Dornkirk was talking about!" However, in this version, he says, "My plan worked perfectly!", implying he already knew that Escaflowne was the "dragon". This makes sense, since in the cut, Fox has been showing us that Escaflowne is the "dragon" for a couple episodes now. So, at least they're being consistant. But on an odd side note, in the preview at the end of episode 2, Dilandau still said his original "that must be the dragon" line ^_^*.
