Time: 00:15 |
I suppose that a visual recap will become commonplace in these episodes (but I wonder what they'll do later when the original stops doing recaps altogether). This recap lasted about 40 seconds, the shortest one so far. |
Time: 00:20 3 Seconds |
Van flying around on Escaflowne. |
Time: 01:40 |
Dilandau says "I've got you, Van!" Er, he's not supposed to know that's Van in there. Yet, later, when he sees Van come out of Escaflowne, he's surprised that it's him, even though according to that line, he shouldn't be. |
Time: 03:20 6 Seconds |
Hitomi thinking of what to do when the crew decides that they should go look for Van. |
Time: 03:39 12 Seconds |
Hitomi explains that she's been able to guess things right ever since she was little. |
Time: 04:01 3 Seconds |
Hitomi thinking, then looking determined right before she asks Allen to test her abilities. |
Time: 04:09 |
Added commercial break. This is right after Hitomi asks Allen to test her. |
Time: 04:55 |
When Folken walks up to Escaflowne, the music cue "Chain" begins playing. We're not supposed to hear this track until episode 19, during the scene that I refer to as "The really corny scene that's only dramatic because of the music." ^_^* |
Time: 05:09 5 Seconds |
Folken cutting his finger on his sword. Come on! You don't see any blood there! The blood thing's important. Well, they cut it in episode 2, too, so I guess they deleted the whole blood pact thing. |
Time: 06:47 5 Seconds |
While Hitomi is telling Allen about himself, one of the soldiers says he doesn't know if it's right or not, since Allen never talks about his past. |
Time: 06:53 |
Hitomi thinks to herself that Allen mentioned that his sister disappeared and his mother died. To emphasize this, a scene from episode 21 is cut to of a flashback to Allen's sister and his mother dying. |
Time: 07:11 5 Seconds |
Hitomi wondering if she should keep going, since Allen looks mad. |
Time: 07:23 15 Seconds |
Hitomi explains that in the near future, Allen might see his father again, but since he adheres to the past, his grudge will cause it to be an unpleasant reunion. |
Time: 08:49 |
Folken calls Van "brother". He originally did not say this, which accounts for Van's complete lack of reaction. We're not supposed to know they're brothers for about another minute. |
Time: 08:55 4 Seconds |
Van looking angrily at Folken. |
Time: 09:27 |
After Folken officially reveals that he is Van's brother, a bunch of little flashback scenes from episode 22 are cut to (people saying that Folken ran away from the dragon hunt, etc.). |
Time: 09:47 3 Seconds |
The Mole Man drinking and saying that whatever happens will happen. |
Time: 10:29 |
More cuts to episode 22 when Folken says that he lost against the dragon. Scene of him getting his arm ripped off (and there's still some blood! Woo hoo! But not nearly as much as before). |
Time: 11:31 |
When Hitomi tells Allen and Merle to picture Van strongly, clips of Van from previous episodes are cut to, to show that they must really be thinking about him. |
Time: 12:00 7 Seconds |
After she locates Van, Hitomi passes out. |
Time: 12:07 |
A pan down to the floating fortress is added. |
Time: 12:42 |
When the Crusade descends into the pit, the background track "Flying Dragon" should have been playing. Well, it's not. Just some generic stuff where the big, loud, cool music should be. |
Time: 15:34 |
Second added commercial break. This is right after Allen rescues Van. |
Time: 15:41 |
Someone here must work for NASA. When Hitomi is trying to judge the distance across the gap, she originally calculates it to be "five, almost six meters". In the TV version, this equates to... eight to nine feet?! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's just a tad off (since one meter is a little over three feet, it would have been closer if she had said eightteen feet). |
Time: 16:18 |
When Hitomi jumps across the chasm, the music cue "Wings" should be playing. So, she's flying without her "Wings" music. Waahh, I wish they'd leave Kanno-san's stuff alone! |
Time: 17:40 |
(sigh) There they go playing "Epistle" in random places again. It starts when Folken throws Van his sword and lasts the rest of the battle on the fortress. |
Time: 18:13 3 Seconds |
When Van cuts Dilandau, there's a cut of blood and locks of hair falling to the floor (but the rest of the blood in the scene is there!) |
Time: 18:21 3 Seconds |
Dilandau screams after his face is cut. |
Predictions for Episode 6
-The episode preview shows clips from the beginning of episode 7 as well. So, either they're previewing multiple episodes, like at the end of episode 2, or they're adding the beginning of episode 7 to the end of 6, since 6 is kinda action-less.
-When Hitomi listens to the CD, they'll probably make an English song. I'm afraid. However, when she listens to the CD, they cut to Amano, who up until now has been cut out of everything.
-They'll probably cut or change the parts with Dilandau nursing his scar until it bleeds again.
-Watch Millerna be a valley girl.
