I was sent a great book titled
SELF RESCUE for rock climbers for Christmas last year (Thanks, Chris!).
So I kept it in my bathroom and every time I went in for a number 2 I would
read a little bit from the book. It is a great way to study.
I should have spent more time in the bathroom during University!
Anyway - we did a little practising to make sure we knew how to safely
get down from up above in an emergency situation. Here Scott is practising
a little "prusiking" up the rope. A "prusik" is a knot used to tie onto
the main rope using accessory ropes. These knots pinch onto the main
rope when weighted. By having one for your feet and one to your waist,
you can inch-worm your way up the rope (or down the rope).
