The Malacca River was once a very busy port. 'Tongkangs' (a kind of big wooden boat)
were used to load goods from ships to the port because the river is to shallow for ships to dock.
Tongkang is rarely seen nowadays. But you can still find many fishing boats in many part of Malacca River. Thank you for following me till this far, hope you enjoy this little trip through the memories of Malacca. |
