Doom Codes
From PC to PS, Doom is a smash hit!

Doom was the biggest phenomenon ever to hit the personal computer. In this perfect PlayStation conversion, you can play either the expanded version of Doom (Ultimate Doom), or Doom 2. A must have, Doom takes everything the PC had and adds slightly better graphics and a new ambient lighting effect! A must have for Doom fanatics.
Doom's graphics are up to their usual high standards. Minimal pixelization occurs when you get too close to an enemy, which is not uncommon for the first person shooter genre. The new lighting effect is great, casting eeriness throughout the entire game. The monsters and blood effects are fantastic, with great attention to detail. All of the levels have been kept intact graphically, as far as I can tell.
The sound effects in Doom were the relatively unrecognized masterpieces of the game. Chilling screams and howls add dimension and horror to the game. Also, sounds are done accurately in terms of distance. For example, an enemy standing two rooms away makes far less noise than a monster in the same room, but they switch as you get closer to the originally further one. Overall, the game is a sonic treat.
Doom was the second corridor shooter, following and demolishing the weak in comparison Wolfenstein 3-D. The PlayStation version, containing the newest version, Ultimate Doom, and Doom II, makes it the greatest yet. It contains two independent yet linked games in one, which makes up for its slightly aging concept.
Both Doom games control like a dream. Weapons are easy to shoot, and it is easy to move in the 3-D environment. The weapons are accurate, and the spread effect that made the shotguns famous is still there and is just as effective. Doom is still a little hard to get used to at first, because you have the ability to run freely.
I felt that Doom PlayStation was a dream to play, with excellent features, graphics, controls, sounds, and cheats. It is up there with my favorites.
