Resident Evil Codes
Definitely not for the squeamish!!

Resident Evil is by far the best video game ever created. It has all the elements of a masterpiece. Awesome graphics, sounds, action, puzzle elements and gore make this a must buy. It definitely won't be a dull ride.
Graphically, Resident Evil is unbelievable. Realistic movements from all characters, awesome cinematics between the good parts, and lots of realistically depicted gore make this one a definite winner. Incredible details like spent rounds clattering to the floor, as well as character animations while using weaponry, are second to none. In the dining room, the grains on the wooden table are clearly visible! Lighting effects abound, clearly illuminating the paths throughout the game. Blood and gore are depicted fabulously, especially when the blood first starts spouting from the enemy. Various animals, like the snake, crows, and spiders, are depicted with startling accuracy. When objects must be moved, the character realistically strains him/herself to a stunning degree of realism. Graphically, this stuff is top notch.
Resident Evil's audio is superb. Eerie zombie groans scare the hell out of the player, causing delayed reactions and misfirings. Rapidly changing music easily sways the mood of the player, from tranquil to frenzied. Voiceovers of spectacular quality accentuate the action, leaving nothing to be desired. Doors open with a delicately audible creak, perfectly keeping the player in total suspense of the next room's contents.
While its graphical concepts are based on past games, such as Alone in the Dark, it makes enough improvements to put it leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessors. The concept of a single game which falls into five or so gaming genres is completely new. These are RPG, Action, Adventure, Shooter and Puzzle. With all this on a single disc, how can you go wrong?
Controlling the characters at first is a bit difficult to learn, and the player will experience a few gory deaths while wrestling with the controller. Soon, however, this becomes no problem at all. Moving objects and running can be done with ease, and aiming a high power firearm at a hapless semi-lifeform is no trouble at all. This game really doesn't have any faults control wise.
Multiple characters, scenarios, and paths through the game give it tons of variety. It consumes a lot of time, but it is time well spent. An approaching zombie always scares the player, especially in a quiet room. This one's got it all, and it's a blast to play.
And now for the grades...
