Street Fighter Alpha Codes
The best Street Fighter to date!!

After months of agonizing wait, the NTSC PlayStation version of Street Fighter Alpha has finally been released. After playing this game for just a few minutes, I realized that it was worth ten times the wait. An
awesome game from all aspects, Street Fighter Alpha is a delight to play.
The graphics are, in one word, unbelievable. The character sprites are enormous, with gorgeous colors and details accenting the fluid animations. Though the characters are gigantic, they move with no slowdown. It's arcade perfect all the way, folks. The backgrounds are phenomenal. 3-D effects,
like the stone lady in Sagat's stage, are particularly impressive. A very noteworthy animation is also the M.Bison Psycho Crusher Super Move. It is something that has to be seen to be believed.
The sounds are not to impressive, but they do the job. There are no individual player names announced, which is a downside, but the grunts, groans, and screams of anguish accompany the brutal gameplay. They do the job just nicely.
The originality is where the problems lie. There are some original aspects, such as new characters, more interesting storylines, and more moves for returning characters. For the most part, however, the gameplay is identical to all previous Street Fighter games, which may not be a bad thing for Street Fighting veterans. However, since the dawn of Tekken, this style of gameplay is outdated.
The play control is immaculate. All moves are pulled off with extreme ease, in the familiar style of Street Fighter. There are pauses in the game when a super move is pulled off (intentional, mind you, and not slowdown)
that divide the PSX Web Network's opinion. I personally like them because they build the intensity of the move, but Bret dislikes them because they briefly stop the action. Since it's my review, I'm all for them ;)
The game is very fun to play, providing nonstop action and fierce competition. Only NFL Gameday and Tekken provide us with as much playing time.
And now for the grades...
