Tekken 2 Codes

The ultimate in home entertainment!!

The absolute best is here-Tekken 2 is home. Unbelievable graphics combined with stellar gameplay add up to the best home game ever created. If you own a PSX and don't buy this game, you're totally insane.
Graphically, Tekken 2 pushes the envelope on the PlayStation system. Texture mapped polygon characters are used, and contain far less flicker than the original Tekken. Backgrounds are nicely detailed, with original backdrops that correspond with a character from the game. The characters move with a fluidity which is just incredible, only a mite less realistic than true human motion. All in all, this game has made incredible graphical acheivements and easily has the best visuals of any console game yet.
While the music certainly is interesting, the tracks aren't separated like they are in Tekken, so you can't play them on a cd player. The effects are killer. More bone breaking, grunts and moans make you wince with compassion for the victim onscreen.
While the game is no more original than Tekken 1, its innovations are simply incredible. True reversals, unlike any other previous fighting game, add a whole defensive strategy which was not present in the first Tekken. Each character can also throw an opponent from behind. The lack of this feature was a major weakness in Tekken. Thus, a player can not turn his/her back and not be thrown. They are just as susceptible when their back is turned as they are when they're facing the enemy.
Tekken 2's gameplay is solid. For the most part, the characters are balanced, though players like Jun, Lei and Paul are favored. The least effective characters have to be the Jack-2 clones, which are P.Jack, Kuma, and Ganryu. Combos come off easily, and most moves are linkable and chainable. Although there are tons of combos that we already know, each time we play we discover many new ones. The great part is that most of the combos from the original Tekken work, plus all new combos for all of the characters. Not all of the sub-bosses are clones, as they were in Tekken. Baek and Bruce, two sub-boss secret characters, have their own unique fighting styles, although I think that Bruce really doesn't fit with the rest of the characters. Baek, Jun and Lei fit in nicely, though. Overall, there's just so much here, so buy the game now and see for yourself.
The greatest part of Tekken 2 is the FunFactor and replay value. The only mode I've been playing is the survival mode, because I take delight in shattering my old records. The team battle mode is also nice, though I would like to have seen immediate character substitution rather than starting a new round, a la MK2 for SNES. The quest for all of the secret characters was fun, though it lasted for only two hours total. There is so much to this game, and it should be bought by every PlayStation owner.

And now for the grades...
