WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game Codes
The bruisers of the WWF stomp into your living room!!

WWF Wrestlemania, easily the best wrestling video game ever created, has come home to your PSX after a brief yet exciting life in the arcades. Although there are only eight characters, there are enough moves and detail to keep devoted brawlers very happy. This game doesn't just appeal to wrestling enthusiasts, not being one myself, it has universal appeal due to its strategy and its aspects of a fighting game.
The graphics in this game, as compared to other wrestling games, are perfect. The awesome digitized graphics, although rather small, are extremely detailed, with phenomenal animations. Motion capture was used to
animate the authentic wrestling moves, and it really pays off. You'll feel like you're being pounded in the middle of the squared circle.
The constant running commentary is brilliant, with amazing sound quality that shows the potential of the Playstation. The OOMPHs! and AAHS! are represented real well on this disc.
Controlling your wrestlers should be no problem, because all moves require tap-tap motions. There is no button jamming like WWF RAW, so it actually requires some skill, and not just ramming buttons. Although the combos are fun to do and look really cool, they are mindless to perform. However, reversals are a nice touch, adding a strategy element never before seen in a wrestling game. The major control gripe here is the loading time during the Royal Rumbles, right in the middle of heated battle. Also, combos can be interrupted with loading time, causing terrible confusion.
This game is the most original in a while. The grabs, reversals, and combos are very new to the tiring fighting genre. This one breathes new life into the 2-D fighting genre.
Although this game only has eight fighters, it is still very fun to play. There is one problem, though, and that is the possible deletion of all of the arcade secrets, from Adam Bomb to fatalities. These things would have brought this game over the top, and still can, if they exist. The combo system is a big disappointment, because there is one major combo per guy. Also, all combos other than super combos can be reversed, lessening their importance. Overall, this disc will provide you with countless hours of wrestling action.
And now for the grades....
