Oops!!10:00 A.M. PST
Well, I really messed up....I had to go away on the weekend that all the press and retailers got their review copies of Riven (I will hopefully find mine in my PO box today :)...There LOTS of new images out there, and since this is the first time I've gotten online all weeknend, I'm still finding some...There are some new ones at Electronics Boutique and some of the same at NGO.. I'm not putting them in my gallery because I am temporarily out of room (which will change soon...)... Also, Jim over at The Unofficial Riven Homepage has put some very nice pics of the Riven packaging up on his page...

I'm Baaack!!10:30 A.M. PST
You've heard all the excuses before, so I won't go into why I was offline since the fourth... In any case, there's been plenty going on since I was last here... There are several new articles pertaining to Riven from USA Today, Gamer's Zone, and ABC News. Also, the Riven press packages were shipped out on the 14th, so expect articles aplenty in the press for a while.... Also, there is a contest on HappyPuppy today...yes, today...they will be giving out several hundred prizes in "celebration" of Riven.... Meanwhile, Gordon Currie's RivenGuild site is coming along nicely, it looks like it will be up and running smoothly soon..you might consider checking out his Myst screensaver contest, too.

Gamespot Riven Preview10:00 A.M. PST
Well, I finally had time to really look at the Gamespot article, and I must say, the article contains some things which I consider to be major spoilers... My suggestion, take a look at the pics, but hold yourself back from actually reading the article.
New Riven Preview!!!!!8:45 A.M. PST
There is a new Riven preview at Gamespot. They've put up some great new pics, and I should have those up by this afternoon...be forewarned, they look like spoilers to me, so if you want your Riven experience to be "pure", you might want to pass on this one...I haven't read the article yet, but when I do, I'll tell ya what I think....

Riven books due out tomorrow!!!
12:00 A.M. PST
RAWA had this to say today on the Lyst:
I just asked Chris Brandkamp, and he said the due date for the coffee table book ("From Myst to Riven: the Creations and Inspirations") and the third novel ("The Book of D'ni") are both due out TOMORROW. (October 1, 1997). But remember the standard Riven warning: Both of these books (especially the cofeetable book) contain information that could lessen your Riven experience (i.e. give away answers to puzzles, etc.) If you care about a "pure" Riven gaming experience, bury these book in the back yard until you've finished the game... :)

New Movies!
10:25 A.M. PST
Acclaim (the company publishing the Saturn and Playstation versions of Riven) has released three new .mov's. You can find those here. I should have those added to my gallery sometime today....which brings up another thing. I'm going to fix the galleries today, they seem to have been a little buggy since I added Gallery 8.

A letter to fans from Rand Miller was posted on the Cyan website yesterday. It deals with the system requirements for Riven, and why they are what they are, and why Cyan isn't completely satisfied with them, either.

Riven.com updated, two new pics and a movie!
5:35 P.M. PST
Riven.com was updated today. They released one new pic from Riven, a pic from Myst #1 by Darkhorse, and a movie file. I've added all of these to the gallery, and finally got around to adding the new sound Spyder released on Tuesday. Also, I'm making a page with all the articles I can find and put up on the web...it should be ready sometime in the next couple of weeks...as soon as I can get the scanner at my school in working order.

Updated Gallery, System Requirements
6:00 P.M. PST
As promised, I have updated
my Riven gallery...and the system
requirements have been updated to match those found on the Riven.com
site. The Riven.com website will be updated on Friday...so be prepared
for some major news... In related stories, in a burst of ambition Spyder
updated his little site. Apparently he just caught a whiff of what I told
you last Friday about the new From Myst to Riven: The Creations and
Inspirations book....he said today that "Widow" had told
him that the book "might" have several different covers... big
news there, huh!... He also made two other updates today, one announcing
the release date of Riven (which is OCTOBER 31st),
and another with some pictures of the new Riven Gear catalog.

Riven Coffee Table Book Due Out
October 1st! 6:10 P.M.
PST
RAWA stated today that
From Myst to Riven: The Creations and Inspirations, by Richard Kadrey,
will be released October 1, instead of the previously stated release date
of October 13. Also, there will be five different covers for this book,
so choose carefullly. RAWA also had this to say:
--------- WARNING -----------
This book could double as a hint book. Though it doesn't spell out all the answers to all the puzzles, this book goes into a lot of detail about how certain puzzles work, and has the potential to spoil things for you if you read it before playing the game.
Those of you who want the enjoyment of figuring out the puzzles for yourself, should put this book on a high shelf and resist all temptations of peeking at it before you're done. :)
Beta Testing in Progress and Myst
Comic #0! 5:30 P.M. PST
The latest from Cyan
is that Riven is being product (Beta) tested by Broderbund. This is really
the final step before the final product. Also, there is a Myst Comic #0
being sold exclusively by American Entertainment, you can get it at www.mania.com.
Be forewarned, however, as S&H is more than the comic costs.
Finally 5:00
P.M. PST
Oh boy! I'm back and better than ever! Here's the latest...the gallery has been updated! I've split it up to make it less of a hassle, and have added a whole new batch of pics!!!
